Carbonate‐ Versus Hydroxide‐Based Precursor for the Synthesis of Li/Mn Rich Cathodes: Exploring Differences in Discharge Capacities and Cycle Life

open access: yesSmall Science, Volume 6, Issue 8, August 2026.
The synthesis of Li/Mn‐rich cathodes via hydroxide‐based precursor can be beneficial in terms of, for example, lower surface area. The apparently disadvantageous lower lithiation amount (discharge capacity) is shown to be beneficial for cycle life, as the higher redox oxidation number in the discharged state suggests a lower amount of detrimental Mn3+.

QBP1 Peptide as a Potential Anti‐Amyloidogenic Therapy for Type 2 Diabetes: An In Vitro Study

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 37, 3 July 2026.
The anti‐amyloidogenic peptide QBP1 effectively halts human islet amyloid polypeptide (hIAPP) aggregation, preventing the formation of toxic β‐structured intermediates. Through a combination of biophysical assays, molecular dynamics, and cell‐based studies, QBP1 is shown to preserve β‐cell viability and metabolic homeostasis, positioning it as a ...

PolyProline Predictor: A web server for empirical sequence‐based prediction of polyproline II helices

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 35, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract Polyproline II (PPII) helices are extended left‐handed secondary structures increasingly recognized for their roles in molecular recognition, signaling and within intrinsically disordered regions of proteins. Despite their functional importance, predicting regions with propensity to form PPII helices from sequence alone remains challenging due

New High Precision Measurements of Apollo Samples: 0.3–5 GHz Complex Refractive Indices

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 131, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Active and passive radar techniques provide information on the subsurface structure and history of planetary bodies. However, interpretations of radar data are limited by our understanding of the complex dielectric permittivity and magnetic permeability of the surface material.

Enhancing the Therapeutic Relationship Between Mental Health Case Managers and Individuals With Serious Mental Health Conditions: A Participatory Action Research Study in Community‐Based Services

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mental Health Nursing, Volume 35, Issue 2, April 2026.
ABSTRACT This study examined how community mental health case managers, most of whom were mental health nurses, modified their day‐to‐day practice to strengthen the therapeutic relationship within community services. Using a participatory action research design across 10 centres in Catalonia, Spain, 24 case managers and 105 patients engaged in two ...

Polyelectromyography Under Propofol to Differentiate Functional from Idiopathic Dystonia: A Pilot Study

open access: yesMovement Disorders, Volume 41, Issue 2, Page 395-405, February 2026.
Abstract Background Functional dystonia (FD) is one of the most diagnostically challenging functional movement disorders. Phenomenological features often lack specificity, as many are also observed in idiopathic dystonia (ID) and validated biomarkers to distinguish FD from ID are currently unavailable Objective To investigate potential differences in ...
