Proanthocyanidins from Lotus corniculatus

Phytochemistry, 1996
The chemical structure of the purified proanthocyanidin polymers of Lotus corniculatus was analysed by 13C NMR and by mild acid catalysed degradation in the presence of excess of phloroglucinol. The NMR data showed that the polymer was partially glycosidated with a number average Mr in the range 1800–2100 (six to seven flavanoid units).

Flavonoid glycosides of Lotus corniculatus (leguminosae)

Phytochemistry, 1982
Abstract Two-dimensional TLC of stems and leaves of Lotus corniculatus revealed the presence of ca 25 flavonoid glycosides. Among these, 14 were identified; 10 are new for this species. This pattern is qualitatively the same among different populations of this plant but the relative amounts of mono- and diglycosides varies considerably from one ...

Male sterility in birdsfoot trefoil (Lotus corniculatus L.)

Sexual Plant Reproduction, 1989
This paper describes six male steriles in birdsfoot trefoil. Data on the following characters were recorded on these plants and on two male fertile plants: chromosome number, presence of pollen at tripping, percentage of irregularly shaped anthers, percentage of anthers with acetocarmine stainable pollen inside, maximum range of percentage of pollen ...

Male meiosis in Lotus corniculatus L.

Plant Systematics and Evolution, 2012
In the present study, male meiosis was investigated in Lotus corniculatus from different geographical areas of the Kashmir Himalayas. The 2n = 4x = 24 in one cytotype of var. minor is reported for the first time worldwide, whereas 2n = 2x = 12 for var. corniculatus, var. japonicus and var. minor are reported for the first time in India.

Birdsfoot Trefoil (Lotus corniculatus L.)

1990
The genus Lotus (Leguminosae) consists of over 200 species, including xerophytic desert and alpine perennials and salt-tolerant annuals (Larsen 1958; Urbanska 1984). The regional center of origin for Lotus is probably the Mediterranean basin, where the greatest diversity of the species occurs. This complex genus has three basic chromosome numbers, 5, 6,
