This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Investigation of unsteady flow in a centrifugal pump at low flow rate
Due to the characteristics of unsteady flow in the centrifugal pump at low flow rate is not revealed well, a simulation of the internal flow at different flow rates is carried out with renormalization group k–ε turbulence model and multiple reference ...

Legal Education: Extent to Which “Know-How” in Practice Should Be Taught in Law Schools [PDF]
In order to attract pedestrians to travel with public transport instead of private cars, the layout of interchange stations is important and should be designed in an effective way.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Comparison of remote sensors for soil moisture and other hydrologic studies [PDF]
Progress in lake temperature and soil moisture remote sensing during 1971. The use of satellite data and imagery for improved flood and low flow forecasts, improved water level and ice reports for the Great Lakes, and better and faster coastal zone storm

Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Improving streamflow estimates through the use of LANDSAT [PDF]
Estimates of low flow and flood frequency in several southwestern Wisconsin basins were improved by determining land cover from LANDSAT imagery. With the use of estimates of land cover in multiple-regression techniques, the standard error of estimate (SE)

Dynamics in shear flow studied by X-ray Photon Correlation Spectroscopy
X-ray photon correlation spectroscopy was used to measure the diffusive dynamics of colloidal particles in a shear flow. The results presented here show how the intensity autocorrelation functions measure both the diffusive dynamics of the particles and ...

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.
