A low-voltage low power CMOS companding filter

16th International Conference on VLSI Design, 2003. Proceedings., 2003
CMOS companding filters exploit compressed I-V characteristics of MOSFETs and reduce voltage swings at internal nodes, thus allowing large dynamic range in low supply voltage environments. Companding filters replace g/sub m/-c filters in low voltage environments for higher dynamic range.

Low-Voltage Low-Power Amplifiers

1995
Low-voltage and low-power amplifiers are strongly limited in dynamic range (DR) and bandwidth (B). The maximum dynamic-range/supply-power ratio is restricted to DR/sub max//P/sub sup/ = /spl pi//16 kTBe by thermal noise in resistors. To obtain this maximum value, several rail-to-rail (R-R) input stages and R-R output stages biased in class-AB are ...

Low voltage swing gates for low power consumption

ISCAS'99. Proceedings of the 1999 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems VLSI (Cat. No.99CH36349), 2003
A low swing voltage design technique is proposed. The new design could be used successfully in order to decrease the power dissipation in Complementary Pass-Transistor Logic (CPL) as in Cascade Voltage Switch Logic (CVSL) logic gates. The achieved gate output voltage-level swing reduction, results in a significant reduction of their power consumption ...

Low-power low-voltage library cells and memories

ICECS 2001. 8th IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems (Cat. No.01EX483), 2002
For future Systems on Chip (SoC) in deep submicron technologies, digital libraries as well as ROM and SRAM memories have to be designed to work at very low supply voltages and to be very robust while considering wire delays, signal input slopes, noise and crosstalk effects.

MOSFET technology for low-voltage/low-power applications

IEEE Micro, 1994
Certain limits influence MOSFET technology in low-voltage applications. When we reduce the power supply voltage in modern short-channel devices, both active power dissipation and hot carrier reliability improve more than Linearly. However, strong off-state power consumption requirements and increasing numbers of FETs in each integrated circuit ...

A low voltage low power CMOS analog multiplier

2011 NORCHIP, 2011
This paper presents a single low-voltage CMOS analog multiplier with low-power consumption. It consists of four voltage adders and a multiplier core. The proposed circuit is simulated with HSPICE and simulation results have shown that, under single 0.9V supply voltage, the circuit has smaller than 1.8% linearity error and 0.88% THD under the maximum ...

Low-voltage low-power opamp based amplifiers

Analog Integrated Circuits and Signal Processing, 1995
Amplifiers operating under low-voltage and low-power conditions are strongly limited in dynamic range and bandwidth. The maximum dynamic range is limited by the supply power and the thermal noise power in resistors. To obtain the maximum, input and output stages should be able to process signals from rail to rail.

Realization of a low-voltage and low-power Colpitts quadrature oscillator

2006 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2006
An oscillator for generating a differential quadrature signal dedicated for RF applications is proposed. The topology is based on a direct coupling between two identical differential Colpitts oscillators, requiring no additional coupling stages and hence reducing the current consumption.

Log-domain filters for low-voltage low-power applications

1998 IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems. Surfing the Waves of Science and Technology (Cat. No.98EX196), 2002
This paper focuses on the potential of the log-domain principle for implementing low-voltage (LV) and low-power (LP) continuous-time filters (CTFs). By means of examples, it is shown that log-domain filters allow substantial power saving at very low supply voltages (

Low-voltage 9T FinFETSRAM cell for low-power applications

2015 28th IEEE International System-on-Chip Conference (SOCC), 2015
In this paper, a novel multi-threshold 9T-SRAM cell using FinFET technology with improved read and write margins in comparison with the standard 6T-SRAM cell is proposed. By the use of this bit-cell at supply voltage of 200mV (800mV), read and write margins are improved by 92% (97%) and 2X (40%), respectively.
