From national air carriers to low-cost companies: Effects of successful marketing strategy implementation [PDF]

open access: yesMarketing (Beograd. 1991), 2009
Huge changes in marketing strategies and, more generally - in business philosophies are not so often. During the last 20 years global and/or national companies have already defined their general approaches of marketing instruments implementation ...

Airline Networks: A Comparison of Hub-and-Spoke and Point-to-Point Systems

open access: yesJournal of Aviation/Aerospace Education & Research, 2008
The disparity between the relative success of low-cost and network carriers since 2001 has often been attributed to the difference in route system architecture.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Mergers and Acquisitions in the EU low cost carrier market. A Product and Organisation Architecture (POA) approach to identify potential merger partners. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
As the EU low cost airline sector matures, consolidation is expected. This paper details a three-stage methodology to examine LCCs mergers and acquisition activity. A series of depth interviews with aviation experts concludes that the motives for LCCs to

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

The Development of Low-Cost Airlines and Tourism as a Competitiveness Complementor: Effects, Evolution and Strategies [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Spatial and Organizational Dynamics, 2015
This paper addresses the relationship between the development of the airline industry and tourism. On the one hand, air transport has triggered the growth of tourism throughout the world, while, on the other hand, tourism has acted as a complementary ...

An adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system for forecasting australia’s domestic low cost carrier passenger demand

open access: yesAviation, 2015
This study has proposed and empirically tested two Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) models for the first time for predicting Australia‘s domestic low cost carriers‘ demand, as measured by enplaned passengers (PAX Model) and revenue passenger

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Forecasting Australia’s domestic low cost carrier passenger demand using a genetic algorithm approach

open access: yesAviation, 2016
This study has proposed and empirically tested for the first time Genetic Algorithm (GA) models for forecasting Australia’s domestic low cost carriers’ demand, as measured by enplaned passengers (GAPAXDE Model) and revenue passenger kilometres performed (

An insight into airline dynamic pricing practices in emerging markets: Effects of low cost carriers' presence on routes from Belgrade 'Nikola Tesla' airport [PDF]

open access: yesTehnika, 2016
Dynamic pricing and revenue management in airline industry have been the subject of research for more than twenty years now. Building upon that massive body of research, in this paper we investigate actual dynamic pricing patterns in new and emerging ...
