We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Garlic Inulin as a Fat Replacer in Vegetable Fat Incorporated Low-Fat Chicken Sausages
Inulin is a non-digestible carbohydrate and a prebiotic that can also act as a fat replacer in various foods. This study examined the effect of replacing vegetable oil with garlic inulin on the quality traits of chicken sausages.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

IMPACT OF SOME CARBOHYDRATE-BASE FAT REPLACERS ON THE LOW FAT MOZZARELLA-LIKE CHEESE CHARACTERISTICS [PDF]
Two carbohydrate-base fat replacers were used to study the chemical and physical properties of low- fat Mozzarella cheese being made by using 1.5% fat cow's milk. The obtained curd was divided into seven equal parts, the first one was used as a control

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Copper utilization in low fat diets
The objective of this study was to investigate both the dietary copper utilization and the body copper content in rats fed either low fat diets (2%) or normal fat diets (8%) containing olive oil, sunflower oil and palm oil (olein fraction), by two ...

Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.
