Blind parameter estimation of low probability of intercept waveforms
Proceedings 7th International Conference on Signal Processing, 2004. Proceedings. ICSP '04. 2004., 2005A novel algorithm to estimate the parameter of low probability of intercept waveforms is presented, based on RAT, de-chirp and FRFT. Except for carrier frequency and chirp rate of triangular linear frequency modulation continue waveform (TLFMCW), modulation bandwidth and modulation period are also given.

Low Probability of Intercept Antenna Array Beamforming
IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2010A novel transmit array beamforming approach is introduced that offers low probability of intercept (LPI) for surveillance radar systems employing phased array antennas. Radar systems are often highly visible to intercept receivers due to the inherent two-way versus one-way propagation loss.

Detection of multiple access low-probability-of-intercept networks
Proceedings of TCC'94 - Tactical Communications Conference, 2002Increased demands for highly connective, yet covert, communications in the tactical battlefield have fueled the development of so-called multiple access low-probability-of-intercept (MALPI) networks. Although there have been a number of research efforts regarding the design of MALPI networks, detectability analyses are typically carried out for a ...

The analysis and design of modern Low Probability of Intercept radar
2001 CIE International Conference on Radar Proceedings (Cat No.01TH8559), 2002In the modern battlefield, radar faces more and more serious threats from ECM and ARM, etc. Only the Low Probability of Intercept (LPI) radar can survive. In this paper, the principle of LPI radar is introduced first. Then the effects of radar parameters on LPI performance are discussed in detail.

Low Probability of Intercept (LPI)
1998Low probability of intercept (LPI) is the term used for there being a low probability that a radar's emissions will be usefully detected by an intercept receiver in another aircraft or on the ground. For the air battle of the future, LPI is essential. In conventional aircraft the most important need for LPI is to avoid electronic countermeasures.

Detection of low probability of intercept signals in low SNR using multichannel sensor arrays
2014 22nd Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2014In this paper, a method is proposed for the detection of low probability of intercept, LPI signals in high noise without prior knowledge and assumption using spatially distributed multichannel wideband sensor array. The proposed detection method uses eigenvalue ratios (EVR) of wideband spatial covariance matrix as test statistic.

Low Probability of Intercept Radar Waveform Recognition Based on Dictionary Leaming
2018 10th International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing (WCSP), 2018Low probability of intercept (LPI) radar waveform recognition is a challenging task in modern radar and electronic warfare (EW) systems. To solve the problem of incomplete information and the need for human experience in the existing feature-based radar recognition methods, a robust and automatic LPI radar waveform recognition method based on Choi ...

On sensitivity analysis of low probability of intercept (LPI) capability
MILCOM 2005 - 2005 IEEE Military Communications Conference, 2005For operational purposes, the low probability of intercept (LPI) capability of a waveform is usually quantified by the area of being intercepted by a detector. The radius of a circular area equivalent to the vulnerable area, the Circular equivalent vulnerable radius (CEVR), is used to indicate the vulnerability.

Adaptive radar jamming waveform design based on low probability of intercept
2015 IEEE China Summit and International Conference on Signal and Information Processing (ChinaSIP), 2015Low probability of intercept (LPI) has currently become a central issue in modern electronic warfare. In this paper, the problem of task-dependent adaptive radar jamming waveform design based on LPI is investigated. Firstly, the achievable signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) and mutual information (MI) are derived to evaluate the target ...

Low probability of intercept optimization for radar network based on mutual information
2014 IEEE China Summit & International Conference on Signal and Information Processing (ChinaSIP), 2014This paper investigates the problem of low probability of intercept (LPI) design for radar network system and presents a novel LPI optimization strategy based on mutual information (MI) to improve the LPI performance for radar network. With the radar network system model, this paper would first derive Schleher intercept factor for radar network.
