Design of a Multi‐Complex Disturbance Generator Using Virtual Instrumentation for Power Quality Monitoring Research

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
A real‐time power quality disturbance generator is developed using virtual instrumentation based on LabVIEW and NI MyDAQ. The system generates IEEE‐standard PQ events with controllable noise and harmonics. Measurement uncertainty analysis confirms its reliability for realistic testing of Power Quality Disturbance detection and classification algorithms.

Molecular Docking Studies of Marine Diterpenes as Inhibitors of Wild-Type and Mutants HIV-1 Reverse Transcriptase

open access: yesMarine Drugs, 2013
AIDS is a pandemic responsible for more than 35 million deaths. The emergence of resistant mutations due to drug use is the biggest cause of treatment failure.

Subclinical cardiac alterations and cardiometabolic profile in adolescents with newly diagnosed polycystic ovary syndrome: A cross‐sectional comparative echocardiographic study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective While cardiometabolic comorbidities have been well established in adults with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), it remains unclear whether the early signs of cardiovascular morbidity emerge during adolescence. This study aimed to investigate whether metabolic and cardiovascular alterations begin in adolescents with PCOS.

A −107.8 dB THD+N Low-EMI Multi-Level Class-D Audio Amplifier

open access: yes2020 IEEE Symposium on VLSI Circuits, 2020
This paper describes a class-D audio amplifier with a multilevel output stage that reduces both EMI and idle power. High loop gain, and thus high linearity, are enabled by a relatively high (4.2 MHz) switching frequency, which relaxes the requirements on its output LC filter. Fabricated in a 180nm BCD technology, it can drive 14 W into an 8-Ω load with

Similar dynamic tibiofemoral movements during jump‐landing and walking but distinct hamstrings strength across ACL reconstruction autograft types at mid‐term follow‐up

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose Dynamic tibiofemoral movements following anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) with quadriceps tendon (QT) autografts have not yet been compared to other autografts. We aimed to compare dynamic anterior tibial translation (ATTd) and internal tibial rotation (ITRd) during jump‐landing and walking among patients with QT, bone ...

Dry intrusions and warm‐core development in Medicanes: Insights from a multi‐case analysis and the peculiar evolution of Ianos

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
Mediterranean tropical‐like cyclones show a clear seasonality, with September cyclones exhibiting the deepest convection and Ianos representing the most extreme case. While one or more dry intrusions are typically detected during the cyclone life cycle, Ianos instead features two much weaker descending airflows.

An extended dual input dual output three level Z source inverter with improved switch loss reduction technique

open access: yesJournal of Electrical Systems and Information Technology, 2016
Multilevel inverter (MLI) is a proven technology used for industrial applications due to low output total harmonic distortion (THD), high power handling capability and low active device rating.

A 1-nS 1-V Sub-1-µW Linear CMOS OTA with Rail-to-Rail Input for Hz-Band Sensory Interfaces

open access: yesSensors, 2020
The paper presents an operational transconductance amplifier (OTA) with low transconductance (0.62–6.28 nS) and low power consumption (28–270 nW) for the low-frequency analog front-ends in biomedical sensor interfaces.

Tuning the Length of Filomicelles Prepared Via Templated Polymerization‐Induced Self‐Assembly

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
High‐aspect‐ratio polymeric micelles are attractive yet notoriously difficult to control in length. We reveal a counterintuitive and powerful solution: in supramolecularly templated PISA, adding non‐sticker polymer unexpectedly elongates the micelles, while post‐assembly sonication enables precise shortening with reduced dispersity.
