Wafer-scale epitaxial germanium (100), (111), (110) films on silicon using liquid phase crystallization

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2018
A wafer-scale method to obtain epitaxial germanium (Ge) on crystalline silicon (Si) using liquid-phase-crystallization (LPC) is presented. The technique provides a simple yet versatile method to grow epitaxial germanium on silicon with any ...

The E3 Ubiquitin Ligase RLIM Safeguards Oligodendrocyte Development and Myelination by Targeting SLC7A11 for Polyubiquitination to Regulate Ferroptotic Resistance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
RLIM‐mediated SLC7A11 polyubiquitination is required for SPTBN2‐mediated trafficking and membrane localization of SLC7A11, which enables oligodendrocyte precursor cells to be resistant to ferroptosis and safeguards oligodendrocyte lineage progression and thus myelination.

Efficacy of measuring lysophosphatidylcholine levels in human cerebrospinal fluid to differentiate myelopathy from cauda equina syndrome

open access: yesScientific Reports
Spinal stenosis frequently involves multiple regions, particularly the cervical and lumbar spine. Therefore, it is essential to identify biomarkers that can distinguish between central and peripheral neuropathy. Lysophosphatidylcholine (LPC), a biomarker

Plasma lyso-phosphatidylcholine concentration is decreased in cancer patients with weight loss and activated inflammatory status

open access: yesLipids in Health and Disease, 2007
Background It has been observed that ras-transformed cell lines in culture have a higher phosphatidylcholine (PC) biosynthesis rate as well as higher PC-degradation rate (increased PC-turnover) than normal cells.

Intrinsic Dual‐Phase Regulated GeSe2 Nanoparticles Triggered by Ball‐Milling Treatment for Photonic Multi‐Valued Logic Circuits

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We report the solid‐state ball milling, a traditional, reliable, mass‐productive material processing, to prepare the air‐stable and dual‐phase GeSe2‐x nanoparticles with extended photodetection feasibility toward optical‐wavelength regions. We further display photonic multi‐valued logic (MVL) circuit through the employment of a hybrid PMMA/GeSe2‐x ...

Targeting the ATX‐LPA Axis Overcomes TKI Resistance and Immunosuppression in Renal Cell Carcinoma via Dual Inhibition of AKT/mTOR and TBK1/IRF3 Pathways

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Therapeutic resistance limits durable survival in advanced/metastatic renal cell carcinoma (RCC) treated with first‐line tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) plus immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI). We sought to define key resistance drivers and actionable targets.

Ti‐Doping Activates Adjacent Zr Sites in Bimetallic MOFs for Cooperative Phospholipid Removals in Human Biomonitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ti‐doped Zr/Ti bimetallic MOFs activate neighboring Zr sites to selectively capture phospholipids from serum through cooperative interactions. In nontargeted screening, the material minimizes matrix interference, expands detectable feature coverage, and enables broad recovery of diverse chemical hazards, providing a powerful cleanup strategy for LC ...

The dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker benidipine prevents lysophosphatidylcholine-induced endothelial dysfunction in rat aorta

open access: yesJournal of Biomedical Science, 2009
Background Lysophosphatidylcholine (LPC), an atherogenic component of oxidized low-density lipoprotein, has been shown to induce the attenuation of endothelium-dependent vascular relaxation. Although benidipine, a dihydropyridine-calcium channel blocker,

Hypoxia increases mouse satellite cell clone proliferation maintaining both in vitro and in vivo heterogeneity and myogenic potential. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
Satellite cells (SCs) are essential for postnatal muscle growth and regeneration, however, their expansion potential in vitro is limited. Recently, hypoxia has been used to enhance proliferative abilities in vitro of various primary cultures.

Robot‐Assisted Measurement of the Critical Micelle Concentration

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
The study introduces (SIMO) smart integrator for manual operations, a robotic platform for precise, repeatable determination of (CMC) critical micelle concentration in surfactants. SIMO reduces standard deviation by 80% compared to manual methods. Surfactant, dye, and diluent selection, robotic protocols, and data handling are detailed.
