Evidence of natural lumpy skin disease virus (LSDV) infection and genetic characterization of LSDV strains from water buffaloes (Bubalus bubalis) in India

Archives of Virology
Lumpy skin disease (LSD) has emerged as a threat to cattle production in Asia, and India has been facing LSD epidemics since 2019. Although water buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) is susceptible to natural LSDV infection, there have been no confirmed reports of LSDV infection in water buffalo in India.

A One Health approach to bovine coronavirus vaccine development, using LSDV as a live virus vector

open access: yesHuman Vaccines and Immunotherapeutics
Bovine coronavirus (BCoV) causes significant pneumo-enteric infections in cattle and other ruminants. A BCoV-like coronavirus was previously found in a symptomatic human child and shares 97.1% sequence identity with one of the more prevalent human coronaviruses, HCoV-OC43. Zoonosis of a virulent BCoV from livestock is a feasible threat.

Approximating the bias of the LSDV estimator for dynamic panel data models [PDF]

open access: possible, 2004
It is well known that the LSDV estimator for dynamic panel data models is not consistent for N large and finite T. Nickell (1981) derives an expression for the inconsistency for N going to infinity, which is of order 1/T. Kiviet (1995) uses asymptotic expansion techniques to approximate the small sample bias of the LSDV estimator to also include terms ...

Genetic characterization of lumpy skin disease virus (LSDV) isolates from an outbreak on Great Nicobar Island, India, in 2022 reveals the involvement of a cluster 2.5 recombinant LSDV strain (East/Southeast Asian lineage)

Archives of Virology
Lumpy skin disease (LSD) has emerged as a global threat to cattle health and production. Although India has been encountering regular episodes of LSD epidemics on the mainland since 2019, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands remained free of LSD until 2021.

Application of least square dummy variable (LSDV) in the estimation of inequality adjusted HDI

South Florida Journal of Development
The effects of inequality-adjusted indexes for education, income and life expectancy on inequality-adjusted human development index were observed using panel data for periods 2010 to 2019 in Benin, Cameroon, Ghana, Niger and Nigeria via Least squares dummy variable (LSDV) model that varies non-stochastically over time series (t) and individual level (i)

Development of an assay to differentiate between virulent and vaccine strains of lumpy skin disease virus (LSDV)

Journal of Virological Methods, 2014
Lumpy skin disease (LSD) was and still is a constant threat to the State of Israel, since the first outbreaks in 1989 and in 2006-2007. Recently, another massive outbreak occurred, at the beginning of July 2012, in the northern part of Israel. An intensive vaccination campaign with a sheeppox-based vaccine was initiated, in addition to culling ...

On the Bias of the LSDV Estimator in Dynamic Panel Data Models with Endogenous Regressors

SSRN Electronic Journal, 2014
This paper studies the behaviour of the bias corrected LSDV estimator and GMM-based estimators in dynamic panel data models with endogenous regressors. We obtain an expansion of the conditional bias of the LSDV estimator with the leading term coinciding with the one in the expansion from (Kiviet, 1995) and (Kiviet, 1999).
