Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a possibility for different applications in early and late stage breast cancer management. In early breast cancer tumor informed approaches are increasingly used for detecting molecular residual disease (MRD) and early recurrence. In advanced stage, ctDNA provides a possibility for monitoring disease progression and

Is the direct observation of electronic coherence in electron transfer reactions possible? [PDF]
The observability of electronic coherence in electron transfer reactions is discussed. We show that under appropriate circumstances large-amplitude oscillations can be found in the electronic occupation probabilities. The initial preparation of the system is of crucial importance for this effect, and we discuss conditions under which experiments ...

In Search of Behavioral Opportunities From Misattributions of Luck
How performance is perceived and attributed has important implications for strategizing. Much research in the cognitive and social sciences suggests that people tend to mistake luck for skill in ev...

In this explorative biomarker analysis, we assessed serial sampling of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) with CellSearch in two randomized trials testing immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in metastatic breast cancer. Our data demonstrate a prognostic potential of CTCs, most apparent 4 weeks into ICI therapy.

UNCOVERING THE TRUE “WEALTH” OF HAPPINESS —EXAMINING THE LIMITATIONS THAT GOVERN CROESUS’ QUESTION ABOUT HAPPINESS AND ARISTOTLE’S SUBSEQUENT REPLY [PDF]
The goal of the article is to present the context in which we, modern readers and scholars, make meaningful use of the words “happiness,” “luck,” and “fortune.” This discussion starts by examining Croesus’s question to Solon, who is the happiest man on ...

A column of grains in the jamming limit: glassy dynamics in the compaction process [PDF]
We investigate a stochastic model describing a column of grains in the jamming limit, in the presence of a low vibrational intensity. The key control parameter of the model, $\epsilon$, is a representation of granular shape, related to the reduced void space.

Luck is Hard to Beat: The Difficulty of Sports Prediction [PDF]
Predicting the outcome of sports events is a hard task. We quantify this difficulty with a coefficient that measures the distance between the observed final results of sports leagues and idealized perfectly balanced competitions in terms of skill.

BCI-Mediated Behavior, Moral Luck, and Punishment [PDF]
An ongoing debate in the philosophy of action concerns the prevalence of moral luck: instances in which an agent’s moral responsibility is due, at least in part, to factors beyond his control.
