Resistivity Structure of the Alabama‐Oklahoma Lineament and Mississippi Embayment: Insights Into Crustal Weakness, Heat Flow, and Seismicity of the Region

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, Volume 13, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract The Alabama–Oklahoma Lineament (AOL) is a major crustal boundary that intersects the Mississippi Embayment (ME) and may influence intraplate deformation in the southern United States. We present the first regional magnetotelluric (MT) resistivity models across the AOL–ME system using EarthScope data and two‐dimensional inversion. All southwest–

Climate‐Driven Long‐Term Increase in Tidal Wetland Gross Primary Production in the United States

open access: yesGlobal Biogeochemical Cycles, Volume 40, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Tidal wetlands are critical carbon sinks, yet their response to ongoing environmental change remains uncertain across the conterminous United States. To address this gap, we quantified long‐term trends and interannual variability in tidal wetland gross primary production (GPP; g C m−2 d−1) using a 20‐year (2001–2020) satellite‐based data set ...

Potential Impact of Revising the Diagnostic Criteria for Gestational Diabetes on Maternal Pregnancy and Infant Perinatal Outcomes

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes, Volume 18, Issue 5, May 2026.
Revising the New Zealand gestational diabetes (GDM) diagnostic criteria leads to an 18% relative increase of GDM prevalence by identifying an additional high‐risk group likely to benefit from treatment, but 35.5% of those currently receiving GDM care would no longer be diagnosed, potentially compromising their maternal and infant health.

Lule Warrenton

open access: yes, 2013
We do not as yet have documentation on the “Hollywood Girls’ Club” or “the first all-woman film company” that Lule Warrenton was reputed to have started in 1923 (Slide 1996, 48). These would not have been her first efforts to get outside the niche she had occupied since she began at Universal in 1913. Dubbed “Mother” Warrenton, as a character actor she

Experience and Preparedness of Primary Care Dentistry Residents in Dental Care Delivery to Rural Communities in South Texas

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Dental Research, Volume 12, Issue 2, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives To assess dental residents' self‐perceived preparedness to provide dental care and their experiences delivering care in rural communities in South Texas. Materials and Methods This cross‐sectional study evaluates advanced education in general dentistry (AEGD, n = 19) and pediatric dentistry (PD, n = 20) residents' preparation for ...

An improved phylogeny and revised taxonomy of Catillariaceae (Lecanoromycetes, Ascomycota)

open access: yesTAXON, Volume 75, Issue 2, April 2026.
Abstract The boundaries of the family Catillariaceae have largely remained untested through phylogenetic methods. Recent studies have led to the transfer of several genera previously classified in Catillariaceae to the newly described family Leprocaulaceae. Despite these changes, the distinction between Catillariaceae, Leprocaulaceae, and Catinariaceae

Phylogeny, species delimitation and machine learning bridge the gap between DNA sequences and morphology in the lichen genus Arctomia (Arctomiaceae, Ascomycota)

open access: yesTAXON, Volume 75, Issue 2, April 2026.
Abstract This study investigates species boundaries in the lichen genus Arctomia (Arctomiaceae, Ascomycota) using an integrative approach combining molecular phylogenetics, full Bayesian population delimitation, heuristic and model‐based species delimitation, and supervised machine learning applied to morphological data.

A Hyperdimensional Computing Framework for Analysis of Cardiorespiratory Synchronization During Paced Deep Breathing

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Autonomic function during deep breathing (DB) is normally scored based on the assumption that the heart rate is synchronized with the breathing. We have observed individuals with subtle arrhythmias during DB, where an autonomic function cannot be ...

Annual Research Review: Neural mechanisms of eating disorders in youth – from current theory and findings to future directions

open access: yesJournal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry, Volume 67, Issue 4, Page 444-466, April 2026.
Eating disorders are prevalent and profoundly debilitating psychiatric conditions with multifactorial etiology that frequently manifest during adolescence. This developmental stage is characterized by significant neurostructural and neurofunctional change, which may create a context conducive to the emergence of eating pathology.

The Arctic—While the Ice is Melting: On Driftwood and Other Transnational Exhibition Stories

open access: yesMuseum Anthropology, Volume 49, Issue 1, Spring 2026.
ABSTRACT The exhibition The Arctic—While the Ice is Melting opened at the Nordic Museum in Stockholm in 2019 and is still on show, describing life in a changing climate and allowing its visitors to encounter several voices and perspectives of the past, present, and future. The three‐year preparation for the exhibition involved collaboration between the
