Influence of disorder and a parallel magnetic field on a Quantum Cascade Laser

open access: yes, 2000
The luminescence spectra of a quantum cascade laser in a strong magnetic field is influenced significantly by the presence of disorder (charged or neutral) in the system.

Anomalous luminescence of subglacial sediment at Haut glacier d'Arolla, Switzerland - a consequence of resetting at the glacier bed? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
<p>Luminescence has the potential to elucidate glacial geomorphic processes because primary glacial sediment sources and transport pathways are associated with contrasting degrees of exposure to light.

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

Simultaneous Measurement of 6DOF Motion Errors of Linear Guides of CNC Machine Tools Using Different Modes

open access: yesSensors, 2020
Based on the prior work on the six degrees of freedom (6DOF) motion errors measurement system for linear axes, and for the different types of machine tools and different installation methods, this study used a ray tracing idea to establish the ...

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Active Region Mode Control for High-Power, Low-Linewidth Broadened Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers for Light Detection and Ranging

open access: yesSensors
This paper introduces a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) with high power and narrow linewidth broadening achieved through active region mode control. By integrating mode control with broad-spectrum epitaxial material design, the device achieves high

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

Low-Dark-Current and Wide-Dynamic-Range InGaAs/InAlAs Avalanche Photodiodes with a Dual-Charge Layer

open access: yesPhotonics
This study explores the impact of a dual-charge layer structure on the performance of InGaAs/InAlAs avalanche photodiodes (APDs) with a separate absorption, charge, multiplication, charge, and transit (SACMCT) structure. The dual-charge layer, consisting
