Multiscale Thermal Analysis of Gold Nanostars in 3D Tumor Spheroids: Integrating Cellular‐Level Photothermal Effects and Nanothermometry via X‐Ray Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 14, Issue 11, April 25, 2025.
This study investigates nanoscale temperatures generated by photoexcited gold nanostars and their correlation with microscale thermal damage at the cellular level. Using X‐ray absorption spectroscopy and confocal microscopy in 3D cancer spheroids, it assesses localized heating effects and examines tumor cell structure and integrity, offering insights ...

Active Iron‐Drug Nanocomplexes Improve Photodynamic and Photothermal Cancer Therapy by Mitigating Tumor Hypoxia and Counteracting Tumor Heat Resistance

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 14, Issue 9, April 4, 2025.
A pH‐responsive nanocomplex (PAFH) enhances photodynamic (PDT) and photothermal therapy (PTT) by addressing tumor hypoxia and heat resistance. Under laser irradiation, PAFH releases hypericin for singlet oxygen generation and apigenin to inhibit HSP‐90 and alleviate hypoxia.

Colloidal graphite/graphene nanostructures using collagen showing enhanced thermal conductivity [PDF]

open access: yesInternational journal of nanomedicine 9, 1287, (2014), 2015
Time kinetics of interaction of natural graphite (GR) to colloidal graphene (G) collagen (C) nanocomposites was studied at ambient conditions, and observed that just one day at ambient conditions is enough to form colloidal graphene directly from graphite using the protein collagen.

CLDN18.2 CAR‐derived Extracellular Vesicle Immunotherapy Improves Outcome in Murine Pancreatic Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
CLDN18.2 CAR‐T cell‐derived small extracellular vesicles (CAR‐sEVs) display potent cytotoxicity and prolong survival in preclinical pancreatic cancer models. They contain functional CAR proteins and granzyme B, exhibit antigen specificity, and effectively target tumor cells while sparing healthy cells.
