Lunar Highland Preserves Meteoritic-iron-rich Materials in the Earth–Moon System

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Meteoritic impacts over 4.5 billion yr have modified the composition and properties of the Earth and Moon’s surfaces. The low-iron lunar highlands (FeO ∼ 5 wt%) may provide insights into the contribution of meteoritic iron to the Earth–Moon system ...

Investigating the Impact of Lunar Rover Structure and Lunar Surface Characteristics on Antenna Performance

open access: yesSensors
This article explores the influence of lunar regolith and rover structure, such as mast design and material composition, on antenna parameters. It focuses on the distinctive difficulties of communication in the lunar environment, which need specialized antenna solutions.

Individual variability in activity patterns in Atlantic halibut (Hippoglossus hippoglossus) revealed using pop‐up satellite tags

open access: yesJournal of Fish Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Understanding fish behaviour and activity patterns is essential for interpreting their ecology and the processes that shape population dynamics, yet such information remains limited for wild fishes because observing individuals in situ is challenging.

Evaluating the Depth–Age Hypothesis for the Evolution of the Lunar Regolith

open access: yesThe Planetary Science Journal
Lunar regolith is the fractured rock layer covering most of the lunar surface. This rock is fractured into regolith primarily by repeated meteorite impacts over eons.

Optimal Design of High-Power Density Medium-Voltage Direct Current Bipolar Power Cables for Lunar Power Transmission

open access: yesAerospace
Power systems on the lunar surface require power lines of varying lengths and capacities to connect generation, storage, and load facilities. These lines must be designed to perform efficiently in the harsh lunar environment, considering factors such as ...

Local Elites in Chile's Pisco Valley: Dispossession, Legal Mobilisation and Intertwined Citizenship

open access: yesJournal of Agrarian Change, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In countries in the Global South, citizenship is often closely tied to access to water and land ownership. In Latin America, the literature has primarily explored social mobilisation and identity reconfiguration in response to development‐driven processes of land and water dispossession affecting peasants, rural and Indigenous communities ...

Noble gases and nitrogen in material from asteroid Bennu

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, EarlyView.
Abstract We report the elemental and isotopic abundances of all stable noble gases (helium, neon, argon, krypton, and xenon) in eight particles from asteroid Bennu returned by NASA's OSIRIS‐REx mission. We also report nitrogen abundances and isotopic ratios that were analyzed alongside neon and argon in four additional Bennu particles.

Ejecta Blankets at Small Craters on the Moon

open access: yesThe Planetary Science Journal
Impact-derived ejecta covers most of the lunar surface, originating from recent impacts through to the beginning of the geologic record. Despite how common ejecta is, accurate measurements of ejecta thickness are difficult to obtain, and existing ...
