Cis‐regulatory and long noncoding RNA alterations in breast cancer – current insights, biomarker utility, and the critical need for functional validation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The noncoding region of the genome plays a key role in regulating gene expression, and mutations within these regions are capable of altering it. Researchers have identified multiple functional noncoding mutations associated with increased cancer risk in the genome of breast cancer patients.

Expression of ASPM in Lung Adenocarcinoma and Its Relationship with Development and Prognosis

open access: yesChinese Journal of Lung Cancer, 2020
Background and objective Previous studies have shown that ASPM is a tumorigenesis associated protein, mutations in ASPM can lead to MCPH. This study mainly explores the relationship between the ASPM expression of lung adenocarcinoma and the development ...

High-throughput identification of genotype-specific cancer vulnerabilities in mixtures of barcoded tumor cell lines. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Hundreds of genetically characterized cell lines are available for the discovery of genotype-specific cancer vulnerabilities. However, screening large numbers of compounds against large numbers of cell lines is currently impractical, and such experiments

Strength through diversity: how cancers thrive when clones cooperate

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumor heterogeneity can offer direct benefits to the tumor through cooperation between different clones. In this review, Kuiken et al. discuss existing evidence for clonal cooperativity to identify overarching principles, and highlight how novel technological developments could address remaining open questions.

Long Non-coding RNA LINC00628 Interacts Epigenetically with the LAMA3 Promoter and Contributes to Lung Adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Therapy: Nucleic Acids, 2019
Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have emerged as key regulators of cellular progress in lung adenocarcinoma. In this study, to identify cancer-related lncRNAs and genes, we screened for those lncRNAs that were differentially expressed in lung ...

Multi‐kinase framework promotes proliferation and invasion of lung adenocarcinoma through activation of dynamin‐related protein 1

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, 2021
Recent studies revealed the role of dynamin‐related protein 1 (DRP1), encoded by the DNM1L gene, in regulating the growth of cancer cells of various origins. However, the regulation, function, and clinical significance of DRP1 remain undetermined in lung

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

Expression of FAT1 in Lung Adenocarcinoma and Its Relationship
with Immune Cell Infiltration

open access: yesChinese Journal of Lung Cancer
Background and objective Lung cancer is a leading cause of cancer-related deaths. Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the most common pathological subtype, with adenocarcinoma being the predominant type.
