ABSTRACT IgG4, the least abundant IgG subclass in humans, is increasingly recognised for its involvement in allergic and autoimmune pathologies. Its unique properties, such as the tendency to form half‐molecules (one heavy chain and one light chain) and its generally non‐inflammatory nature, distinguish it from other IgG subclasses.

Placental growth factor before 11 weeks for screening of preterm preeclampsia: The PreMoM study
In this multicenter study including 3448 women with singleton pregnancies in Spain, early placental growth factor (PlGF) measurement (<11 weeks) was compared with standard timing (11–13 weeks) for preterm preeclampsia screening. Early measurements showed no added benefit over models without PlGF.

The Aetiology of Elevated Total Serum Immunoglobulin E in Children
ABSTRACT Aim The paucity of real‐world data on the aetiology of elevated total serum immunoglobulin E (TS‐IgE) in children afflicts families and health care systems with diagnostic uncertainty. We explored a cohort of children with TS‐IgE levels over 1000 kU/L, focusing on the prevalence of atopic and non‐atopic conditions, the aetiology of extremely ...

Diagnostics of Autoimmune Hepatitis Enabled by Non‐Invasive Clinical Proteomics
Mass‐spectrometry‐based proteomic analyses of paired liver‐plasma samples from patients with AIH enabled discovery of numerous proteins showing high diagnostic accuracy. Proteomics may constitute a novel non‐invasive diagnostic tool for AIH if validated in larger, age‐ and sex‐matched cohorts.

Predictors of response to emergent therapies in paediatric immune thrombocytopenia
Emergent therapies (ET), which include intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG), corticosteroids and intravenous anti‐Rho(D) immunoglobulin, are used to treat acute episodes of bleeding in children with immune thrombocytopenia (ITP). Through comparison of clinical characteristics in paediatric patients with ITP responsive to ET versus those non‐responsive to ...
