Geomorphic signal of active faulting at the northern edge of Lut Block: Insights on the kinematic scenario of Central Iran [PDF]

open access: yesTectonics, 2016
AbstractRecent works documented Neogene to Quaternary dextral strike‐slip tectonics along the Kuh‐e‐Sarhangi and Kuh‐e‐Faghan intraplate strike‐slip faults at the northern edge of the Lut Block of Central Iran, previously thought to be dominated by sinistral strike‐slip deformation.

Reducing the Number of Luts for Mealy FSMS with State Transformation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science
In many digital systems, various sequential blocks are used. This paper is devoted to the case where the model of a Mealy finite state machine (FSM) represents the behaviour of a sequential block.

Late Pleistocene‐Holocene right slip rate and paleoseismology of the Nayband fault, western margin of the Lut block, Iran [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, 2014
AbstractThe 290 km long Nayband right‐lateral fault cuts across a region seismically quiescent during the last few millennia. Chlorine‐36 and optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) dating of cumulative geomorphic offsets between 9 ± 1 m and 195 ± 15 m with ages from 6.8 ± 0.6 ka to ∼ 100 ka allow deriving a slip rate of 1.8 ± 0.7 mm yr‐1.

Transforming Group Codes in Mealy Finite State Machines with Composite State Codes

open access: yesApplied Sciences
A new state assignment method focusing on Mealy finite state machines (FSMs) is proposed. The proposed codes are an alternative to composite state codes (CSCs). CSCs are represented as concatenations of group codes and partial state codes. Both group and

Toward Capacitive In‐Memory‐Computing: A Device to Systems Level Perspective on the Future of Artificial Intelligence Hardware

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Capacitive, charge‐domain compute‐in‐memory (CIM) stores weights as capacitance, eliminating DC sneak paths and IR‐drop, yielding near‐zero standbypower. In this perspective, we present a device to systems level performance analysis of most promising architectures and predict apathway for upscaling capacitive CIM for sustainable edge computing ...

Replacing Inputs of Look-Up-Table-Based Moore Finite State Machines with Two Cores of Input Memory Functions

open access: yesApplied Sciences
A new architecture and design method are proposed for field-programmable gate array (FPGA)-based Moore finite state machines (FSMs). The proposed architecture includes a core based on functional decomposition, a core based on twofold state assignment ...

Exploring Shared SRAM Tables in FPGAs for Larger LUTs and Higher Degree of Sharing

open access: yesInternational Journal of Reconfigurable Computing, 2017
In modern SRAM based Field Programmable Gate Arrays, a Look-Up Table (LUT) is the principal constituent logic element which can realize every possible Boolean function. However, this flexibility of LUTs comes with a heavy area penalty.

A Scalable and Resource‐Efficient Pipelined p‐Computer for Probabilistic Ising Machines

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
(a) Block diagram of the portfolio optimization problem: given M assets, the goal is to determine the optimal weights w that maximize the expected return (based on the mean historical assets return u), while minimizing the risk, quantified by the assets covariance matrix S.
