The effects of intrauterine infusion of peanut oil on endometrial health, salivary cortisol and interovulatory period in mares [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Intrauterine infusion of peanut oil at Day 10 post-ovulation has been reported to prolong dioestrus in mares. However, the effects of peanut oil treatment on the endometrium and whether the technique is painful have not been assessed.

'Luteal coasting' after GnRH agonist trigger - individualized, HCG-based, progesterone-free luteal support in 'high responders':a case series [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
This study reports 21 IVF cases with excessive ovarian response, who received gonadotrophin-releasing hormone agonist (GnRHa) triggering for final oocyte maturation, followed by a human chorionic gonadotrophin (HCG)-based, progesterone-free, luteal ...

The oxytocin receptor, luteolysis and the maintenance of pregnancy [PDF]

open access: yesBioscientifica Proceedings, 2019
During luteal regression episodic pulses of oxytocin secretion become coupled to the release of prostaglandin F2 alpha (PGF2 alpha) following synthesis of endometrial oxytocin receptors, but in early pregnancy the inhibition of oxytocin receptor formation by the conceptus prevents the development of the pulsatile pattern of PGF2 alpha release needed to

Effects of Prepartum Supplementation and Yeast Fermentation Products on the Progesterone‐Modulated Transfer of Passive Immunity in Bos indicus Cows

open access: yesJournal of Animal Physiology and Animal Nutrition, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Inadequate colostrum intake increases risks of calf morbidity and mortality. This study investigated the effects of prepartum and early postpartum supplementation and yeast fermentation products on late‐pregnant Bos indicus cows, and the role of progesterone in mediating passive immunity transfer.

Towards a Safe Pathway to Biological Parenthood for Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension

open access: yesPulmonary Circulation, Volume 16, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) carries a high risk of maternal morbidity and mortality in pregnancy, and current guidelines advise against conception. For women with PAH who wish to have genetically related children, in vitro fertilisation (IVF) combined with gestational surrogacy presents a viable and increasingly safe alternative ...

Luteal and placental function in the bitch: spatio-temporal changes in prolactin receptor (PRLr) expression at dioestrus, pregnancy and normal and induced parturition [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Background: Endocrine mechanisms governing canine reproductive function remain still obscure. Progesterone (P4) of luteal origin is required for maintenance of pregnancy.

Reproductive and Perinatal Outcomes of Embryo Transfer in Elite Hanwoo Cows

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 2, March 2026.
Reproductive outcomes following embryo transfer in Elite Hanwoo cows differed by embryo production method. OPU‐IVF was associated with higher abortion, increased birth weight of male calves and greater dystocia risk, whereas MOET resulted in more favourable calving outcomes, highlighting the importance of embryo production strategy and periparturient ...

Perturbations in Lineage Specification of Granulosa and Theca Cells May Alter Corpus Luteum Formation and Function [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Anovulation is a major cause of infertility, and it is the major leading reproductive disorder in mammalian females. Without ovulation, an oocyte is not released from the ovarian follicle to be fertilized and a corpus luteum is not formed.

Altered progesterone concentrations by hormonal manipulations before a fixed-time artificial insemination CO-Synch + CIDR program in suckled beef cows [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We hypothesized that pregnancy outcomes may be improved by inducing luteal regression, ovulation, or both (i.e., altering progesterone status) before initiating a timed–artificial insemination (TAI) program in suckled beef cows.

Treg cells retain stable lineage commitment during pregnancy in mice after late gestation inflammatory challenge

open access: yesImmunology &Cell Biology, Volume 104, Issue 3, Page 276-311, March 2026.
In this study, we used Foxp3‐fatemapping mice to examine the cell lineage stability of Treg cells in pregnancy. Ex‐Foxp3 cells were identified in gestational tissues. However, Treg cells retained lineage stability with no increased ex‐Foxp3 generation, regardless of inflammatory challenges that induce preterm birth.
