Assignment of the Auberger Red Cell Antigen Polymorphism to the Lutheran Blood Group System: Genetic Justification

Abstract. Family studies have provided the final piece of evidence for the assignment of Auberger to the Lutheran blood group system. Lods derived from combined paternal and maternal meioses (ẑ = 10.83 at ô=0.00) strongly support the contention that a single gene controls the expression of both Au and LU antigens.

Anti‐Lu4: A New Antibody Related to the Lutheran Blood Group System1

Abstract. A new antibody, named anti‐Lu4, has been discovered, that reacts with a high frequency red cell antigen. The antibody does not react with dominant or recessive Lu(a‐b‐) red cells or with the red cells of the propositus and two of her five siblings.

Anti‐Lu 11: Another Antibody Defining a High‐Frequency Antigen Related to the Lutheran Blood Group System1

Abstract. An antibody, named anti‐Lu 11, has been found that reacts with a high‐frequency red‐cell antigen related to the Lutheran blood group. The reacting antigen is absent from red cells that are Lu(a‐b‐) and is weakly active on the red cells of newborn infants.

Polymorphic analysis of the Lutheran blood group system in Chinese.

The Lutheran blood group is a complex system consisting of 19 identified antigens. It belongs to the immunoglobulin family of receptors and adhesion molecules. Four pairs of antigens show allelic relationships while other antigens are of very high incidence.

Linkage between alpha 1B-glycoprotein (A1BG) and Lutheran (LU) red blood group system: assignment to chromosome 19: new genetic variants of A1BG.

alpha 1B-glycoprotein (A1BG) polymorphism was examined in a Danish family material (no. 604-1505) with particular regard to markers on chromosome 19. For A1BG-LU we found a lod score z = 3.06 at theta = 0.05 in males, and z = 1.42 at theta = 0.10 in females, which assigns A1BG to chromosome 19.
