DC Stage Modelling for LVRT Capability in Photovoltaic Systems

IECON 2021 – 47th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2021
The design of control algorithms for power converters requires the modeling of different power stages. The selection of the appropriate models must consider the trade-off between accuracy and complexity according to the application to be analyzed. In grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) systems, the model for the PV panels array and the DC booster can be ...

LVRT capability of wind farms

2013 12th International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering, 2013
Nowadays wind turbines are generally required to offer ancillary services similar to those provided by conventional generators. One of the most important services wind turbines must offer is to stay connected to the grid in fault situations delivering the reactive current specified in the recent grid codes.

A Study on the Technology of LVRT for DFIG

2018 Chinese Control And Decision Conference (CCDC), 2018
This paper presents the development of the wind power system and low voltage ride through (LVRT) techniques for doubly -fed induction generator (DFIG) wind energy system. In recent years, wind power has been developing rapidly. As the wind power penetration from large scale wind turbines has been increasing rapidly in the transmission system, there is ...

Control Strategy Study of DFIG with LVRT

2009 International Conference on Energy and Environment Technology, 2009
In recent years, the proportion of the wind power in the grid is increasing rapidly. When the grids faults results in voltage decline, the widespread tripping of wind generators could lead to transient instabilities and local or overall blackouts. So it is concerned that the wind turbines merge into the grid and the request of the low voltage ride ...

LVRT-DGFACTS devices in wind farms

2011 International Conference on Power Engineering, Energy and Electrical Drives, 2011
This article compares the results recorded in the connection of three types of DGFACTS (DSTATCOM, DVR, UPQC) to a wind farm in order to resolve the issues of LVRT requirements on wind farms equipped with wind turbines with squirrel-cage induction generators.

Study on Transient Characteristic of the DFIG LVRT

Advanced Materials Research, 2013
In order to analyze the operational capability of the low voltage ride through ( LVRT) of a gird-connected wind turbine with doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) effectively, it is necessary to evaluate operation characteristics of DFIG under a grid fault.By using the transient principle of the flux of stator and rotor, the expressions of transient ...

A Dynamic LVRT Solution for Doubly Fed Induction Generators

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2009
Doubly fed induction generators have become the most common type of wind turbine generators. However, this type of generator is susceptible to grid-side low voltage and short circuits due to existence of a power electronics converter on the rotor side.

Impact of ASD settings in its LVRT behaviour

SPEEDAM 2010, 2010
A common matter of concern in industrial installations is that adjustable-speed drives (ASD) trip due to voltage sags. ASD manufacturers are including more and more in these devices settings related to control strategies (e.g. allowable DC voltage levels, etc) in order to improve their Low Voltage Ride Through (LVRT).

A Technical Review on LVRT of DFIG Systems

2016
The most important issue with doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) wind turbine is low voltage ride-through performance. To solve this problem, several techniques have been introduced. The paper discusses some of the most commonly used solutions for Low Voltage Ride Through (LVRT) of wind turbine generators which is the most important feature to be ...

Research on LVRT capability of DFIG with demagnetization control

2013 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition, 2013
With the stator directly connected to the grid, doubly-fed induction generator is very sensitive to grid disturbance. Demagnetization control depresses the influence of grid fault by accelerating the damping of natural stator flux linkage, improving the performance of doubly-fed induction generator.
