Investigations on MIT and Lyapunov rule-based modified MRAC for noninteracting and interacting two-tank coupled systems [PDF]

open access: yesFME Transactions
The adaptive control method is a technique that measures the dynamic characteristics of the plant automatically and continuously to make a comparison with its required output.

Design of Lyapunov rule based model reference adaptive control with decoupler for petroleum distillation column control

open access: yesDiscover Applied Sciences
The petroleum industry heavily relies on distillation as a key separation technique for product purification. However, controlling the petroleum distillation columns is challenging due to their highly nonlinear nature, interactions between variables, and

Design of a Taguchi-GRA optimized PID and adaptive PID controllers for speed control of DC motor [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Electrical Engineering, 2021
DC motors have wide acceptance in industries due to their high efficiency, low costs, and flexibility. The paper presents the unique design concept of a multi-objective optimized proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller and Model Reference ...

Global Stability Analysis of Mechanical Prosthetic Finger Adaptive Control [PDF]

open access: yesRevista Română de Informatică și Automatică, 2022
This technical note presents a discussion on the dynamic modeling and analysis of the adaptive controller of a Mechanical Prosthetic finger with constraints mass (m) of the mechanical finger and constant friction (K1) with variation in spring constraint (

Observability of fidelity decay at the Lyapunov rate in few-qubit quantum simulations [PDF]

open access: yesQuantum, 2022
In certain regimes, the fidelity of quantum states will decay at a rate set by the classical Lyapunov exponent. This serves both as one of the most important examples of the quantum-classical correspondence principle and as an accurate test for the ...

Stability Analysis of Switched Linear Singular Systems with Unstable and Stable Modes

open access: yesEntropy, 2023
In this paper, stability is studied for a class of switched singular systems containing both stable and unstable modes. By introducing a time-varying piecewise Lyapunov function (TVPLF) and a mode-dependent average dwell time (ADT) switching rule, the ...

Lyapunov spectra and conjugate-pairing rule for confined atomic fluids [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 2010
In this work we present nonequilibrium molecular dynamics simulation results for the Lyapunov spectra of atomic fluids confined in narrow channels of the order of a few atomic diameters. We show the effect that realistic walls have on the Lyapunov spectra. All the degrees of freedom of the confined system have been considered.

Stability of quantum motion: Beyond Fermi-golden-rule and Lyapunov decay [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2004
We study, analytically and numerically, the stability of quantum motion for a classically chaotic system. We show the existence of different regimes of fidelity decay which deviate from Fermi Golden rule and Lyapunov decay.

Ruling Out Positive Lyapunov Exponents by Using the Jacobian’s Second Additive Compound Matrix

open access: yesIEEE Control Systems Letters, 2022
Second additive compound matrices of the system’s Jacobian are used to formulate sufficient conditions to rule out existence of attractors with positive Lyapunov exponents. The criteria are expressed in terms of Lyapunov dissipation inequalities or Linear Matrix Inequalities amenable to analytic verification.

Frequency Containment Control of Hydropower Plants Using Different Adaptive Methods

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
With the growth in the share of variable renewable energy sources, fluctuations in the power generation caused by these types of power plants can diminish the stability and flexibility of the grid.
