Bovista hollosii—a new puffball (Lycoperdaceae) from sand steppe vegetation in Hungary
Phytotaxa, 2016A new puffball species, Bovista hollosii, belonging to Bovista subgenus Bovista is described. The secondary structure of the ITS2 rDNA transcript (pre-rRNA) could provide information for identifying homologous nucleotide characters useful for cladistic inference of relationships. Such structure data could become taxonomic characters. This work compares the effect of several modern nucleotide alignment strategies, including those making use of ...

The diversity of the lycoperdaceous genera Calvatia, Gastropila and Langermannia in the mycobiota of the state of Rio Grande do Sul (southern Brazil) was investigated. These genera are considered distinct, based on the structure of the gleba and subgleba, and basidiospore characters. The following taxa were identified in the area: Calvatia cyathiformis,

New localities of Gastropila fragilis (Lycoperdaceae) in Europe and Asia.
Czech Mycology, 2012The paper presents two new European localities (in Bulgaria and Russia) and a new record from Asia (Turkmenistan) of the rare gasteroid fungus Gastropila fragilis (= Calvatia pachyderma). A description and illustrations are provided based upon the Russian, Bulgarian and Turkmenian specimens.Differences from similar species are briefly discussed.
