Lipids from Lycopersicon esculentum Fruit Skin
Chemistry of Natural Compounds, 2014Free (FL) (1.25 and 1.22%) and bound lipids (BL) (1.75 and 1.63%) were isolated from skin of ripe Lycopersicon esculentum fruit grown in open plots and in a hothouse. The groups and classes of lipids were established. The FL consisted of 9.3% natural fatty acid ethyl esters and 3.7% carotinoid pigments.

Somatic Hybrid Plants of Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.and Lycopersicon peruvianum Mill.
Journal of Plant Physiology, 1986Summary Fertile somatic hybrid plants between tomato and one of its wild relatives (L.peruvianum) have been produced and were characterised by comparative morphology and fraction 1 protein analysis. All the hybrids were hexaploids and since backcrossing is possible, these hybrids are likely to be of use in tomato improvement. This demonstration of ...

Aims. Capability for rooting of the peruvian and cultivated parental forms of the tomatoes (Lycopersicon peruvianum var. dentatum Dun. and Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) and their cybrids with reciprocal plastom-genome organization as well as with back transferred chloroplasts was investigated. Methods.

Changes in [Ca?????]cyt in elicitor-treated cells were determined, and the calcium-dependent increase of chitinase activity and callose accumulation were analyzed. At first, the trigger range of calcium concentration changes was shown. This range limits the callose accumulation, but does not block an increase of chitinase activity in tomato cells.

Chitinase from tomato Lycopersicon esculentum
1988Publisher Summary Chitin per se is not synthesized by vascular plants, but N-acetylglucosamine as a constituent of other plant polymers, for example, as a glycoprotein, is widespread in many spermatophytes, especially in seeds, including tomato. This chapter describes the assay method and purification procedures for chitinase from Tomato Lycopersicon
