Novelties in Neotropical Lycopodiaceae

Nine neotropical taxa in the Lycopodiaceae are described as new to science, illustrated and discussed. They are Huperzia ciliolata, H. villonacensis. H. cleefiana, H. linifolia var. planifolia. Lycopodiella maniculata. L. caroliniana var. mesetarum.L.krameriana.L.andicola, and Lycopodium lawessonianum.

Neotypification of Urostachys vorwerkii (Lycopodiaceae)

Nessel (1934) first described the name Urostachys vorwerkii Nessel (1934: 178) (Lycopodiaceae) based on Himalayan specimen from unknown locality in India. But this name is largely overlooked in Indian literature.

Nomenclatural notes on Phlegmariurus dentatus (Lycopodiaceae)

The Lycopodiaceae comprise 16 monophyletic genera grouped into three subfamilies (Arana & Øllgaard 2012, Øllgaard 2012, 2014). One of the recently resurrected genera is Phlegmariurus Holub (1964: 21) with ca. 400 species formerly treated under Huperzia Bernhardi (1801: 126) in the Neotropics and Palaeotropics, leaving Huperzia s.s.
