Three newLycopodiumalkaloids fromLycopodium obscurum
Journal of Asian Natural Products Research, 2013Chemical investigation on the crude alkaloid portion of Lycopodium obscurum led to isolation of three new fawcettimine-type Lycopodium alkaloids, lycobscurines A-C (1-3), together with three known compounds. Their structures were determined by spectroscopic methods including HR-ESI-MS and NMR techniques.

LYCOPODIUM ALKALOIDS: XIV. FLABELLINE
Canadian Journal of Chemistry, 1963A new alkaloid, C18H28ON2, designated flabelline, has been isolated by countercurrent distribution from the extract of Lycopodium flabelliforme. The structure and stereochemistry of flabelline have been established by its conversion to and preparation from lycopodine.

The alkaloids of the club moss Lycopodiumobscurum L., collected in Northern Alberta, have been investigated. The known alkaloids lycopodine, lycodine, clavolonine, dihydrolycopodine, O-acetyldehydrolycopodine, flabelliformine, β-lofoline, lycofoline, and des-N-methyl-α-obscurine were isolated and identified, as were the known compounds des-N-methyl-β ...

LYCOPODIUM ALKALOIDS: XVI. ANNOTINE
Canadian Journal of Chemistry, 1964Annotine, C16H21O3N, is shown to be pentacyclic and to contain a tertiary hydroxyl group, a lactone function, a tertiary nitrogen atom, and a dialkylated double bond. The position of the double bond and the tertiary hydroxyl group relative to the nitrogen atom has been established by Emde degradation of annotine methiodide.

Synthesis of the Lycopodium Alkaloid (+)-Lycoflexine
Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2010The first total synthesis of (+)-lycoflexine (1), a constituent of Lycopodium clavatum var. inflexum , has been accomplished in eight steps with 13% overall yield. Our synthesis covers four one-pot reactions, including a tandem Sakurai/aldol sequence, a novel hydroboration/oxidation procedure, a deprotection/transannular Mannich reaction, and as a ...

New Lycopodium Alkaloids from Huperzia serrata
Planta Medica, 2002Three new lycopodium alkaloids, 11alpha-hydroxyphlegmariurine B (2), 7alpha-hydroxyphlegmariurine B (3) and 7alpha,11alpha-dihydroxyphlegmariurine B (4) along with a known compound, phlegmariurine B (1), were isolated from the herb Huperzia serrata. The structures of the above compounds were elucidated based on spectroscopic studies.
