Adverse prognosis gene expression patterns in metastatic castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We aggregated a cohort of 1012 mCRPC tissue samples from 769 patients and investigated the association of gene expression‐based pathways with clinical outcomes. Loss of AR signaling, high proliferation, and a glycolytic phenotype were independently prognostic for poor outcomes, and an adverse transcriptional feature score incorporating these pathways ...

Establishment and evaluation of an animal model for lymph node metastasis of breast cancer

open access: yes陆军军医大学学报
Objective To establish an animal model and evaluation system for lymph node metastasis of breast cancer. Methods A total of 60 female BALB/c mice (6~8 weeks old) were subjected, and then 6 models of lymph node metastasis (n=10) were constructed through ...

Difficulty of predicting lymph node metastasis on CT in patients with rectal neuroendocrine tumors.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2019
BACKGROUND:Surgical indications for rectal neuroendocrine tumors with potential lymph node metastasis remain controversial. Although accurate preoperative diagnosis of nodal status may be helpful for treatment strategy, scant data about clinical values ...

Noninvasive detection of clinically occult lymph-node metastases in prostate cancer.

open access: yesNew England Journal of Medicine, 2003
BACKGROUND Accurate detection of lymph-node metastases in prostate cancer is an essential component of the approach to treatment. We investigated whether highly lymphotropic superparamagnetic nanoparticles, which gain access to lymph nodes by means of ...

Origin of lymph node-derived lymphocytes in human hepatic allografts [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
Hepatic allograft-derived lymph nodes were examined in the post-transplant period on order to determine the origin of lymphocytes and structural elements of the lymph node.

Clinical significance of VEGF-A, -C and -D expression in esophageal malignancies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Vascular endothelial growth factors ( VEGF)- A, - C and - D are members of the proangiogenic VEGF family of glycoproteins. VEGF-A is known to be the most important angiogenic factor under physiological and pathological conditions, while VEGF-C and VEGF-D

TOMM20 as a driver of cancer aggressiveness via oxidative phosphorylation, maintenance of a reduced state, and resistance to apoptosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
TOMM20 increases cancer aggressiveness by maintaining a reduced state with increased NADH and NADPH levels, oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS), and apoptosis resistance while reducing reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels. Conversely, CRISPR‐Cas9 knockdown of TOMM20 alters these cancer‐aggressive traits.

Utility of Lymph Node Aspiration in the Diagnosis of Visceral Leishmaniasis in Sudan. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We evaluated lymph node aspiration (LNA) as a simple diagnostic procedure for visceral leishmaniasis (VL). Lymph node aspiration was compared with the direct agglutination test (DAT) using a diagnostic titer > or = 1:6,400 in 7,880 suspected VL patients ...

Lymph node retrieval in pancreaticoduodenectomy specimens: does educating the pathologist matter? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
BackgroundMany previous studies have suggested that the number of lymph nodes retrieved should serve as a benchmark for assessing the adequacy of the resection.
