On the import and office of the Lymphatic Vessels [PDF]
That absorption is the special office of the lymphatic vessels was, until very lately, a universally received doctrine in physiology: but it is now admitted that if they exercise this faculty, it can be only to an inconsiderable extent; and physiologists of high authority have even denied that they possess any absorbing power at all.

STING Agonists and How to Reach Their Full Potential in Cancer Immunotherapy
STING agonists show promise in preclinical studies in boosting an anti‐tumor response using the immune system. However, different limitations remain, and future research is needed to better understand how STING activation impacts the tumor microenvironment, identify effective combination strategies, and determine the best tumor types for STING agonist ...

Randomized preclinical study of machine perfusion in vascularized composite allografts
This study was designed to identify the optimum machine perfusion parameters for preservation of limbs before transplantation, and determine whether this was better than cold storage. Normothermic machine perfusion at a pressure of 70 mmHg (NMP‐70) provided superior preservation to cold storage after transplantation.

Maternal obesity and resistance to breast cancer treatments among offspring: Link to gut dysbiosis
Abstract Background About 50 000 new cases of cancer in the United States are attributed to obesity. The adverse effects of obesity on breast cancer may be most profound when affecting the early development; that is, in the womb of a pregnant obese mother.

A Mathematical Reconstruction of Endothelial Cell Networks [PDF]
Endothelial cells form the linchpin of vascular and lymphatic systems, creating intricate networks that are pivotal for angiogenesis, controlling vessel permeability, and maintaining tissue homeostasis. Despite their critical roles, there is no rigorous mathematical framework to represent the connectivity structure of endothelial networks.

MAGEA6 Engages a YY1‐Dependent Transcription to Dictate Perineural Invasion in Colorectal Cancer
This study investigates the role of MAGEA6 in perineural invasion (PNI) in colorectal cancer (CRC). MAGEA6 promotes CRC invasiveness by inhibiting YY1 ubiquitination, enhancing CXCL1 secretion, and recruiting Schwann cells. These findings highlight the potential of targeting the MAGEA6/YY1/CXCL1 axis for therapeutic strategies against PNI and tumor ...

Abstract Background We recently described the tumor immune microenvironment (TIME) in oral squamous cell carcinomas (OSCC) from Sudan by assessing the core of the lesions. However, the invasive tumor front (ITF) is the most active part of OSCC lesions; thus, TIME should also be characterized at the ITF in this patient cohort.

The role of lymphatic vessels in the heart
Although cardiac lymphatic vessels have been described for over three centuries, research progress on the role of cardiac lymphatic vessels in regulating cardiac physiology and their disturbances in the pathogenesis of cardiac disease has progressed very slowly, largely due to technical challenges in developing both animal models and cardiac lymphatic ...

Oral squamous cell carcinoma cells exhibit upregulated expression of GSDMD upon exposure to low‐dose cisplatin chemotherapy, which subsequently interacts with MMP14 through its N‐terminal domain, activating the epithelial‒mesenchymal transition (EMT) process and promoting the lymph node metastasis of oral squamous cell carcinoma.
