The Evaluation of Hematological Parameters and Their Correlation with Disease Prognosis in COVID-19 Disease in Iran

open access: yesInternational Journal of Hematology-Oncology and Stem Cell Research, 2023
Background: Since 2019, Coronavirus has been a highly contagious disease. The COVID-19 outbreak was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization in March 2020.

Heat-denatured human immunodeficiency virus type 1 protein 24 antigen: prognostic value in adults with early-stage disease [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
CD4(+) lymphocyte count and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) type 1 RNA level are useful for determining when to initiate antiretroviral therapy but are not used widely in developing countries due to the high cost.

Loss of correlation between HIV viral load and CD4+ T-cell counts in HIV/HTLV-1 co-infection in treatment naive Mozambican patients [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Seven hundred and four HIV-1/2-positive, antiretroviral therapy (ART) naïve patients were screened for HTLV-1 infection. Antibodies to HTLV-1 were found in 32/704 (4.5%) of the patients.

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Relationships of Total Lymphocyte Count and Subpopulation Lymphocyte Counts with the Nutritional Status in Patients Undergoing Hemodialysis/Peritoneal Dialysis [PDF]

open access: yesKosin Medical Journal, 2017
ObjectivesDialysis patients’ nutritional indicators are quite subjective and complex and cannot be easily measured in clinical settings. Based on previous reports that total lymphocyte count (TLC) and subpopulation lymphocyte counts (SLCs) are associated

Longitudinal Intra- and Inter-individual variation in T-cell subsets of HIV-infected and uninfected men participating in the LA Multi-Center AIDS Cohort Study. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
To assess the intra-individual and inter-individuals biological variation and the effect of aging on lymphocyte T-cells subsets. We assessed lymphocyte phenotypes (CD3, CD4, and CD8 T-cells) in 89 HIV-1-infected and 88 uninfected white non-Hispanic men ...

Prediction-based classification for longitudinal biomarkers

open access: yes, 2010
Assessment of circulating CD4 count change over time in HIV-infected subjects on antiretroviral therapy (ART) is a central component of disease monitoring.

Spatial Organization and Molecular Correlation of Tumor-Infiltrating Lymphocytes Using Deep Learning on Pathology Images [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Beyond sample curation and basic pathologic characterization, the digitized H&E-stained images of TCGA samples remain underutilized. To highlight this resource, we present mappings of tumorinfiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) based on H&E images from 13 TCGA

Sampling Site Matters When Counting Lymphocyte Subpopulations

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
Clinical and scientific work routinely relies on antecubital venipunctures for hematological, immunological or other analyses on blood. This study tested the hypothesis that antecubital veins can be considered to be a good proxy for other sampling sites.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.
