New inequalities on the Fan product of M-matrices

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications
This paper focuses on the minimum eigenvalue involving the Fan product. By utilizing the Hölder inequality and the classic eigenvalue inclusion theorem, we introduce two novel lower bounds for τ ( A 1 ⋆ A 2 ) $\tau \left ( A_{1}\star A_{2} \right ...

Quantitative proteomic analysis reveals different characteristics of bladder cancer cells after exposure to bisphenol A

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Bisphenol A (BPA), a common chemical in plastics, exerts dual effects on bladder cancer cells: low doses promote growth and migration, while high doses suppress growth and migration. Multi‐omics and bioinformatics reveal BPA acts via MAPK and inflammatory pathways.

YlmG1 is localized exclusively to the chloroplast envelope membrane and is involved in preprotein translocation in Arabidopsis thaliana

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cytosolically synthesized chloroplast preproteins are translocated across the outer and inner envelope membranes through translocons called TOC and TIC, respectively. In green algae and plants, the TIC core is composed of essential membrane proteins, Tic12, Tic20, and Tic214.

Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We show that DUF4465 family proteins, widespread across bacteria from gut microbiomes, hydrothermal vents, and soil, share a common vitamin B12‐binding function. These augmented β‐jellyroll proteins bind vitamin B12 via extended loops. Our findings establish sequence‐diverse DUF4465 proteins as a widespread class of B12‐binding proteins, highlighting ...

Lower bounds on the minimum eigenvalue of the Fan product of several M-matrices

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications
The concept of the Fan product of several M-matrices is introduced. Furthermore, two new lower bounds of the minimum eigenvalue of the Fan product of several M-matrices are proposed.

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

An innovative algorithm for estimating the minimum eigenvalue of M-matrices

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications
For a general M-matrix, we construct a specialized matrix to derive monotonically increasing lower bounds and monotonically decreasing upper bounds for its minimum eigenvalue.

Bayesian Covariance Matrix Estimation using a Mixture of Decomposable Graphical Models [PDF]

open access: yes
Estimating a covariance matrix efficiently and discovering its structure are important statistical problems with applications in many fields. This article takes a Bayesian approach to estimate the covariance matrix of Gaussian data.
