Measurement of Transepithelial Electrical Resistance (TEER).

open access: yes, 2014
A - TEER of unstimulated PNECs and PBECs cultured for 28 d. Values are expressed as mean ± SD. No significant difference was observed in the TEER values between the groups. B - TEER of PNECs and PBECs cultured with 20 ng/ml IL-13 for 28 d.

Genetically Programmed Shape‐Morphing of Engineered Living Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Here, bacterial and mammalian engineered living materials (ELMs) are presented, in which living cells direct genetically programmed and enzymatically mediated shape‐morphing. The resulting deformation and shape‐recovery can be actuated in a genetically controlled manner by an ELM incorporating out‐of‐equilibrium counteracting biochemical reactions with

2‐Deoxyglucose Dendrimer‐Enabled Niclosamide Delivery to FRβ‐Expressing Macrophages Alleviates Endometriosis Progression and Associated Hyperalgesia

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A folic acid (FA)‐conjugated 2‐deoxyglucose dendrimer selectively targets FRβ+ macrophages in endometriotic lesions, enabling precise intracellular delivery of niclosamide. This nonhormonal nanomedicine enhances drug solubility, provides controlled intracellular release, suppresses lesion growth, reduces inflammation and pain, and establishes FRβ ...

Design of a TEER monitoring setup for a Gut-on-Chip model

open access: yes, 2023

Effect of TNFα on TEER at 24 h and effect of Dex and RU486, a glucocorticoid receptor antagonist, on TEER (not relative value) in alveolar epithelial cells (AECs).

open access: yes, 2023
(A) TEER in AECs stimulated with ± 10 ng/mL recombinant rat TNFα for 24 h, n = 6 (six independent experiments). (B) TEER in AECs stimulated with ± 10 ng/mL recombinant rat TNFα for 48 h and ± 1,000 nM Dex for 24 h, n = 6 (six independent experiments). (C)

Blood–Brain Barrier Regulation: Evolving From Classic Strategies to Electrochemical Ion and Reactive Oxygen Species Control

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Conventional therapies suffer from poor blood–brain barrier (BBB) penetration and disordered ion/reactive oxygen species (ROS) homeostasis, hindering precise neurological treatment. Electrochemical strategies achieve accurate spatiotemporal regulation of neural homeostasis.

Mitral Transcatheter Edge-to-Edge Repair in Acute Ischemic Mitral Regurgitation: Current Evidence and Future Perspectives

open access: yesReviews in Cardiovascular Medicine
Acute ischemic mitral regurgitation is a rare but potentially catastrophic complication following acute myocardial infarction (AMI), characterized by severe clinical presentation and high mortality.

An Engineered Biomimetic Nanoreactor With Cascade Functions for Targeted and Combinatorial Therapy of Ischemic Stroke

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Preparation of RVG‐modified erythrocyte membrane‐coated HMPB nanocarriers loaded with L‐arginine and NBP (RM@HPAN) and its neuroprotective mechanism. After intravenous injection, RM@HPAN achieves prolonged circulation, RVG‐29‐mediated BBB penetration, and ischemic accumulation.

Clinical Impact of Early Nutritional Reversibility After Mitral Valve Transcatheter Edge-to-Edge Repair

open access: yesJACC: Advances
Background: Mitral valve transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (M-TEER) is an established effective treatment for patients with mitral regurgitation. The Geriatric Nutritional Risk Index (GNRI) is a well-known nutritional marker that predicts mortality risk;

IL-18 decreases TEER in Caco2 monolayers.

open access: yes, 2018
The TEER was measured during 24 hours after addition of 10 ng/ml of IL-18, 10 ng/ml IL-1β or 100 ng/ml Tat to the cell monolayers. Note dramatic decrease of the TEER occurring at hour 6 post-exposure by both IL-18 and Tat.
