Further evidence for a color gradient in M15

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal, 1992
Using data obtained at the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope (CFHT) in subarcsecond seeing color maps are constructed in B - V and H-alpha - R of the central regions of the globular cluster M15. Comparison in B - V of the region within 0.31 pc of the cluster center with a coadded sample taken from the surrounding region demonstrates a color gradient, in ...

On the Origin of Planetary Nebula K648 in Globular Cluster M15 [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 1997
We examine two scenarios for formation of the planetary nebula K648: a prompt scenario where the planetary nebula is ejected and formed immediately after a helium shell flash and a delayed scenario where a third dredge up occurs and the envelope is ejected during the following interpulse phase. We present models of both scenarios and find that each can

CONSTRAINTS ON THE DISTANCE MODULI, HELIUM AND METAL ABUNDANCES, AND AGES OF GLOBULAR CLUSTERS FROM THEIR RR LYRAE AND NON-VARIABLE HORIZONTAL-BRANCH STARS. I. M3, M15, AND M92 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Up-to-date isochrones, zero-age horizontal-branch (ZAHB) loci, and evolutionary tracks for core He-burning stars are applied to the color–magnitude diagrams of M3, M15, and M92, focusing in particular on their RR Lyrae populations.

On the age of M92 and M15

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal, 1983
Comparison of VandenBerg's isochrones for globular clusters with the photometry of many main-sequence stars in M92 and M15 gives an age of T = 18 +- 2 x 10/sup 9/ years for both clusters, using a vertical fit to the turn-off luminosity, together with distance modulii found from the period-color-luminosity relation of their RR Lyrae stars. Comparison of

A color gradient in the globular cluster M15

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal, 1989
A U-B color map of the central regions of the globular cluster M15 is constructed from data taken at the CFHT in subarcsec seeing. Analysis of the color distribution of the pixels in this map unambiguously demonstrates that the area within 6.6 arcsec of the center of the cluster is bluer than surrounding regions.

J-PLUS: A wide-field multi-band study of the M15 globular cluster. Evidence of multiple stellar populations in the RGB [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The Javalambre Photometric Local Universe Survey (J-PLUS) provides wide field-of-view images in 12 narrow, intermediate and broad-band filters optimized for stellar photometry. Here we have applied J-PLUS data for the first time for the study of Galactic
