Time-domain studies of M31 [PDF]
M31, our closest neighboring galaxy, is a stepping stone to studies of stellar evolution, star formation, galaxy evolution, and cosmology. However, due to the difficulties of performing photometry in such crowded fields and the lack of wide cameras to encompass the entire galaxy, there has not been a complete census of the stellar contents of M31.

This Letter gives the results of a determination of the thickness and the optimum inclination (i.e., the angle between the galactic plane and the tangent plane) of M31, which are 1.01 kpc and 775, respectively. The method for determining the thickness of spiral galaxies is proposed by Peng, on the basis of the solution of Poisson's equation for a ...

Planck's confirmation of the M31 disk and halo rotation [PDF]
Planck's data acquired during the first 15.4 months of observations towards both the disk and halo of the M31 galaxy are analyzed. We confirm the existence of a temperature asymmetry, previously detected by using the 7-year WMAP data, along the direction

The satellite distribution of M31
(Abridged) The spatial distribution of the Galactic satellite system plays an important role in Galactic dynamics and cosmology, where its successful reproduction is a key test of simulations of galaxy halo formation.

Constraints on the Formation of M31’s Stellar Halo from the SPLASH Survey
The SPLASH (Spectroscopic and Photometric Landscape of Andromeda’s Stellar Halo) Survey has observed fields throughout M31’s stellar halo, dwarf satellites, and stellar disk.

Searching for New Globular Clusters in M31 with Gaia EDR3
We have found 50 new globular cluster (GC) candidates around M31 with Gaia Early Data Release 3 (EDR3), with the help of Pan-STARRS1 DR1 magnitudes and Pan-Andromeda Archaeological Survey (PAndAS) images.

The Spatial and Emission Properties of the Large [O iii] Emission Nebula Near M31
Drechsler et al. reported the unexpected discovery of a 1.°5 long [O iii ] emission nebula 1.°2 southeast of the M31 nucleus. Here we present additional images of this large emission arc, called the Strottner–Drechsler–Sainty Object (SDSO), along with ...

We study the future orbital evolution and merging of the MW-M31-M33 system, using a combination of collisionless N-body simulations and semi-analytic orbit integrations.
