THE RED SUPERGIANT CONTENT OF M31* [PDF]
ABSTRACT We investigate the red supergiant (RSG) population of M31, obtaining the radial velocities of 255 stars. These data substantiate membership of our photometrically selected sample, demonstrating that Galactic foreground stars and extragalactic RSGs can be distinguished on the basis of B − V, V − R two-color diagrams. On the Gamma-Ray Emission of the Andromeda Galaxy M31
Using the γ -ray data obtained with the Large Area Telescope on board the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope (Fermi) for ∼14 yr, we examine the high-energy emission emanating from the center of the Andromeda galaxy M31.

AbstractBulges are not just elliptical subgalaxies situated in the centers of large spirals, though it might seem so from their ages and chemistry. In fact, bulge kinematics have been known to be different since the first long slit spectra were obtained.

Distribution and Motions of HI in M31 [PDF]
It has become clear in the past few years that the distribution and kinematics of HI in M31 is far from simple. The new high-resolution survey made with the Westerbork SRT in the 21-cm line of atomic hydrogen by Brinks and Shane (1983) shows this dramatically. Along almost any line of sight through M31 two separate velocity systems are sampled.

Elemental Abundances in M31: Iron and Alpha Element Abundances in M31’s Outer Halo [PDF]
We present [Fe/H] and [α/Fe] abundances, derived using spectral synthesis techniques, for stars in M31's outer stellar halo. The 21 [Fe/H] measurements and 7 [α/Fe] measurements are drawn from fields ranging from 43 to 165 kpc in projected distance from ...

Calibrating Star Formation Rate Prescriptions at Different Scales (10 pc-1 kpc) in M31
We calibrate commonly used star formation rate (SFR) prescriptions using observations in five kiloparsec-sized fields in the nearby galaxy Andromeda (M31) at 10 pc spatial resolution.
