A Comprehensive Catalog of Emission-line Nebulae, Star Clusters, and Supergiants in M31 from the LAMOST Spectroscopic Survey

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
Spectroscopic observations of various tracers in nearby galaxies, such as Andromeda (M31), play a crucial role in identifying and classifying individual stellar populations and nebular objects, thereby enhancing our understanding of galactic composition,

A natural variation in the promoter of TaGDSL‐7D contributes to grain weight and yield in wheat

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 23, Issue 9, Page 3851-3863, September 2025.
Summary Grain weight (GW) is a critical agronomic trait that greatly impacts wheat yield, yet the underlying genetic factors remain largely unknown. Here, we identify and characterize a candidate gene TaGDSL‐7D controlling GW in wheat through map‐based cloning, which encodes an ER‐located GDSL‐family protein.

The Bulge of M31 [PDF]

open access: yesPublications of the Astronomical Society of Australia, 2013
AbstractBulges are not just elliptical subgalaxies situated in the centers of large spirals, though it might seem so from their ages and chemistry. In fact, bulge kinematics have been known to be different since the first long slit spectra were obtained.

When (Financial) Knowledge Isn't Power: How Race Disrupts Financial Literacy's Relationship to Health Precarity

open access: yesSociology Compass, Volume 19, Issue 9, September 2025.
ABSTRACT Financial literacy is often touted as a tool to shield people from unfavorable economic outcomes. Financial literacy programs almost exclusively focus on improving financial competency so individuals can optimize their personal financial wellbeing, but this individualized conceptualization of financial literacy is incomplete.

Fifteen Years of M31* X-Ray Variability and Flares

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We append an additional 15 yr (2009–2024) to the Chandra X-ray light curve of M31*, the supermassive black hole (SMBH) at the center of M31, the Andromeda galaxy. Extending and expanding on the work in Z.

A novel approach for feline sporotrichosis pathogen detection based on loop‐mediated isothermal amplification

open access: yesVeterinary Dermatology, Volume 36, Issue 4, Page 474-484, August 2025.
Background – Sporotrichosis is a chronic, mycotic infection caused by fungi of the genus Sporothrix. Zoonotic sporotrichosis occurs mainly through S. brasiliensis transmission, resulting from the organism's traumatic introduction via scratches or bites, or contact with exudate from contaminated cats.

Evidence for a Hot Galactic Halo around the Andromeda Galaxy Using Fast Radio Bursts along Two Sightlines

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Fast radio bursts (FRBs) are millisecond-duration radio transients that serve as unique probes of ionizedextragalactic matter. We report the discovery and localization of two FRBs piercing the Andromeda galaxy (M31) with the realfast transient-detection ...
