Semiautomated classification of units in volcanic terrain based on three morphometric attributes derived from a digital elevation model (DEM)

open access: yesEarth Surface Processes and Landforms, Volume 51, Issue 5, May 2026.
The proposed method better responds to the needs of detailed cartography improving the working scale (local and regional) representation; also roughness attributes facilitate the identification of geomorphological units, and the DEM generation method enhances terrain representation.

Lymphocyte Antigen 6G Mediates Vagotomy‐Associated Reduction in Body Weight

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 7, 15 April 2026.
Vagotomy was associated with lower body weight and epididymal white adipose tissue (eWAT) mass, as well as increased Ly6G+ cell infiltration in eWAT. This vagotomy‐associated weight loss was significantly attenuated in neutrophil‐deficient mice, suggesting Ly6G+ cells participate in the regulation of eWAT energy homeostasis.

The Hubble Space Telescope Survey of M31 Satellite Galaxies. IV. Survey Overview and Lifetime Star Formation Histories

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
From >1000 orbits of HST imaging, we present deep homogeneous resolved star color–magnitude diagrams that reach the oldest main-sequence turnoff and uniformly measured star formation histories (SFHs) of 36 dwarf galaxies (−6 ≥ M _V ≥ −17) associated with

Contrasting Maternal, Paternal, and Biparental Ancestry of Populations From the Caribbean Coast of Colombia

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Biological Anthropology, Volume 189, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives The current Caribbean Colombian population is the result of migration processes and admixture that occurred throughout the country's history. The aim of this study was to investigate genetic ancestry gradients throughout the Caribbean territory, with a higher Native American ancestry expected in inland areas compared to coastal ...

Nature or Nurture: LMC-like Dust in the Solar Metallicity Galaxy M31

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Using the Hubble Space Telescope/Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph, ultraviolet (UV) extinction curves have been measured in M31 along 13 new sight lines, increasing the M31 sample to 17.

THE HOT DARK MATTER MODEL: FURTHER INVESTIGATION

open access: yesOdessa Astronomical Publications, 2020

Rebreeding of Female Mountain Lions After Litter Mortality

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 4, April 2026.
We documented rapid rebreeding by female mountain lions (Puma concolor) following litter loss, including the shortest known rebreeding interval to date. These observations highlight the importance of infanticide and intraguild competition in shaping female fitness and population dynamics.

Infrared emission from M31

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 1984
Maps of M31 have been obtained at wavelengths of 12, 25, 60, and 100 microns. Emission is detected from the center and from a ring of 50 arcmin radius. The ring is that also seen in H I, in H II, and in radio continuum radiation. The spectrum of the central emission suggests a hotter dust temperature than in the ring. M31 is a weak infrared source, the

Tunable Magnetoelectric Fluxguide Cancels Power Nulls in WPT Systems With Highly Misaligned Coils

open access: yesEnergy Technology, Volume 14, Issue 4, April 2026.
This article presents a tunable smart fluxguide made from a magnetoelectric composite to enhance positioning freedom and maintain coupling in wireless power transfer (WPT) systems. It actively distributes the magnetic field and enables to overcome unavoidable zero‐charge areas, known as “powernulls.” However, redistributing the magnetic field can ...
