On the Second Quantization of M(atrix) Theory [PDF]

open access: green, 1997
The second quantization of M(atrix) theory in the free (Boltzmannian) Fock space is considered. It provides a possible framework to the recent Susskind proposal that U(N) supersymmetic Yang-Mills theories for all N might be embedded in a single dynamical system.

A Mathematical Programming Approach to Brand Efficiency of Smartphones in the US Market

open access: yesMathematical Problems in Engineering, Volume 2017, Issue 1, 2017., 2017
This study applied mathematical programming approach to investigate the brand efficiency of smartphone brands by collecting data of 2013–2015 from Consumer Report. The brand efficiency was completed by employing the slack‐based measure in data envelopment analysis.

Thermal, chemical and chemothermal denaturation of yeast enolase

open access: yesJournal of Spectroscopy, Volume 17, Issue 2-3, Page 453-467, 2003., 2003
We studied the temperature‒ and denaturant‒induced denaturation of yeast enolase by means of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The temperature‒induced denaturation/aggregation of the enzyme in the absence of denaturant was highly cooperative and occurred between 55 and 65°C with a midpoint of ~58°C.

Lorentz symmetry and IR structure of the BFSS matrix model

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
The BFSS matrix model relates flat space M-theory to a large N limit of matrix quantum mechanics describing N non-relativistic D0-branes. M-theory, being a theory of gravity in flat space, has a rich infrared structure that includes various soft theorems

Effect of heparin and related glycosaminoglycan on PDGF‐induced lung fibroblast proliferation, chemotactic response and matrix metalloproteinases activity

open access: yesMediators of Inflammation, Volume 9, Issue 2, Page 85-91, 2000., 2000
Fibroblast migration, proliferation, extacellular matrix protein synthesis and degradation are the key events in various biological and pathological processes in pulmonary fibrosis. In addition, biopsy specimens from the lungs of patients with plumomary fibrosis show increased numbers of mast cells which have metachromatic granules containing heparin ...

Progress in the Molecular Biology of Ewing Tumors

open access: yesSarcoma, Volume 2, Issue 1, Page 3-17, 1998., 1998
Purpose/results/discussion. Rearrangement of the EWS gene with an ETS oncogene by chromosomal translocation is a hallmark of the Ewing family of tumors (EFT). Detectability, incidence, tumor specificity and variability of this aberration have been matters of intense investigation in recent years.

Target space entanglement in quantum mechanics of fermions at finite temperature

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
We consider the target space entanglement in quantum mechanics of non-interacting fermions at finite temperature. Unlike pure states investigated in [1], the (Rényi) entanglement entropy for thermal states does not follow a simple bound because all ...

Susceptibility of lung epithelium to neutrophil elastase: protection by native inhibitors

open access: yesMediators of Inflammation, Volume 6, Issue 5-6, Page 345-354, 1997., 1997
The development of emphysema is thought to be due to an imbalance of proteases (especially neutrophil elastase [NE]) and antiproteases with loosening of the respiratory epithelium as an early event. We investigated the effect of NE on respiratory epithelial cell adherence in vitro , in the presence of varying concentrations and combinations of native ...

Spontaneous symmetry breaking in tensor theories

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
In this work we study spontaneous symmetry breaking patterns in tensor models. We focus on the patterns which lead to effective matrix theories transforming in the adjoint of U(N).
