Metallurgical Analysis of Chip Forming Process when Machining High Strength Bainitic Steels
In the following work, we propose a metallurgical approach to the chip formation process. We focus on a turning application of high strength steel in which chips are produced by adiabatic shear bands that generate cutting force signals with high ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Microstructure and mechanical properties of h-BN/Yb4Si2O7N2 composites
A series of h-BN based composites with Yb4Si2O7N2 as a secondary phase were successfully synthesized by an in situ reaction hot pressing method. It was found that the relative density and room-temperature mechanical properties monotonically increased ...

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Rapid Assessment of Steel Machinability through Spark Analysis and Data-Mining Techniques
The machinability of steel is a crucial factor in manufacturing, influencing tool life, cutting forces, surface finish, and production costs. Traditional machinability assessments are labor-intensive and costly. This study presents a novel methodology to

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...
