This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Study of machinability of VP 100 steel with different levels of titanium in end milling operations
During the manufacture of a mould, machining is certainly the most important process. The composition required to provide important properties in the steels used, such as hardness, wear and corrosion resistance, results in a low machinability has ...

Characterisation of the relationship between surface texture and surface integrity of superalloy components machined by grinding [PDF]
The surface texture of a machined component is influenced largely by the processing parameters used during machining and hence, there is a relationship between both the formation of the surface texture and surface integrity of the machined component.

β‐TrCP overexpression enhances cisplatin sensitivity by depleting BRCA1
Low levels of β‐TrCP (Panel A) allow the accumulation of BRCA1 and CtIP, which facilitate the repair of cisplatin‐induced DNA damage via homologous recombination (HR) and promote tumor cell survival. In contrast, high β‐TrCP expression (Panel B) leads to BRCA1 and CtIP degradation, impairing HR repair, resulting in persistent DNA damage and apoptosis ...

Performance evaluation of electrical discharge machine on titanium alloy using copper impregnated graphite electrode [PDF]
Electrical discharge machining (EDM) which is very prominent amongst the non conventional machining methods is expected to be used quite extensively in machining titanium alloys due to the favorable features and advantages that it offers.

Machine Learned Learning Machines
There are two common approaches for optimizing the performance of a machine: genetic algorithms and machine learning. A genetic algorithm is applied over many generations whereas machine learning works by applying feedback until the system meets a performance threshold. Though these are methods that typically operate separately, we combine evolutionary

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Tool Life of PM-HSS Cutting Tools when Milling of Titanium Alloy [PDF]
Machining of titanium alloys meets with poor life of a cutting tool. It is caused by a low thermal conductivity and by a high strength-to-weight ratio of the alloys. Various approaches for cost-effective and productive machining titanium alloys are still
