Mobility Control for Machine-to-Machine LTE Systems
In this paper, we propose an efficient mobility control algorithm for the downlink multi-cell orthogonal frequency division multiplexing access (OFDMA) system for co-channel interference reduction. It divides each cell into several areas. The mobile nodes in each area find their own optimal position according to their present location.

On-the-Fly Camera and Lidar Calibration
Sensor fusion is one of the main challenges in self driving and robotics applications. In this paper we propose an automatic, online and target-less camera-Lidar extrinsic calibration approach. We adopt a structure from motion (SfM) method to generate 3D

Direct torque control for dual three-phase induction motor drives [PDF]
A direct torque control (DTC) strategy for dual three-phase induction motor drives is discussed in this paper. The induction machine has two sets of stator three-phase windings spatially shifted by 30 electrical degrees.

Design of a five-axis ultra-precision micro-milling machine—UltraMill. Part 2: Integrated dynamic modelling, design optimisation and analysis [PDF]
Using computer models to predict the dynamic performance of ultra-precision machine tools can help manufacturers to substantially reduce the lead time and cost of developing new machines. However, the use of electronic drives on such machines is becoming

Control Strategy of a Multiple Hearth Furnace Enhanced by Machine Learning Algorithms [PDF]
An enhanced control strategy for a multiple hearth furnace for the purpose of kaolin production is developed and presented in this paper. Mineralogy-driven machine learning algorithms play a key role in the optimization strategy of the furnace.

ABSTRACT Background Chronic micro‐inflammation in patients with end‐stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant driver of cardiovascular complications and diminished quality of life. While standard hemodialysis (SHD) effectively manages small‐molecule clearance, its ability to remove medium‐to‐large uremic toxins—the primary catalysts of systemic ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.
