Mechanical properties and machining of aluminum-silicon alloys modified by bismuth or tin [PDF]
The dry machining performance, microstructure and mechanical properties of hypoeutectic and hypereutectic Al-Si alloys modified with different amounts of Bi and Sn, and cast at different cooling rates, were studied. The measured cutting and thrust forces

A minimal cellulosome‐like system in Cellulosilyticum lentocellum
Cellulose‐degrading bacteria typically use cellulosomes, large multi‐enzyme complexes on a scaffold protein. In Cellulosilyticum lentocellum, we characterise a far smaller arrangement, a single scaffold bound to one cellulase through a single cohesin‐dockerin interaction.

Stress and Strain Distributions during Machining of Ti-6Al-4V at Ambient and Cryogenic Temperatures [PDF]
Dry and liquid nitrogen pre-cooled Ti-6Al-4V samples were machined at a cutting speed of 43.2 m/min and at low (0.1 mm/rev) to high (0.4 mm/rev) feed rates for understanding the effects of temperature and strain rate on chip microstructures.

Mutant NPM1 in Acute Myeloid Leukemia Initiation and Maintenance
NPM1 mutations drive acute myeloid leukemia by acting as neomorphic transcriptional regulators that cooperate with Menin–MLL and XPO1 to sustain HOX/MEIS1 expression and block differentiation. Targeting these mutant‐specific transcriptional dependencies provides a rational therapeutic strategy for NPM1‐mutated AML.

This systematic review synthesizes prognostic models for survival and recurrence in resected non‐small cell lung cancer. While many models demonstrate moderate to good discrimination, few are externally validated and reporting quality is variable, limiting clinical applicability and highlighting the need for robust, transparent model development ...

Workpiece localization : theory, algorithms and implementation [PDF]
Workpiece localization refers to the following problem: assuming a rigid workpiece is arbitrarily fixtured to a work table, determine the position and orientation of the workpiece frame relative to some known world reference frame.

Chronobiology of Cancer: How Aging Fuels Oncogenesis at the Molecular Level
This graphical abstract illustrates the key biological pathways linking aging with cancer development and progression. In the upper left, cumulative exposure to ultraviolet radiation, toxins, and reactive oxygen species (ROS) causes DNA damage and genomic instability, whereas age‐related decline in repair mechanisms, such as ATM/ATR, BER, and NER ...

A Depolarizing Leak in Sodium Bicarbonate Cotransporter NBCe1 Causes Brain Edema
ABSTRACT Objectives SLC4A4 encodes electrogenic sodium bicarbonate cotransporter NBCe1, prominently expressed in kidney and brain. Recessive loss‐of‐function variants in SLC4A4 cause proximal renal tubular acidosis, no brain edema. In the brain, NBCe1 is expressed by astrocytes, where it regulates pH and mediates astrocyte volume changes.
