3D-CNN for Facial Micro- and Macro-expression Spotting on Long Video Sequences using Temporal Oriented Reference Frame

open access: yesProceedings of the 30th ACM International Conference on Multimedia, 2022
Facial expression spotting is the preliminary step for micro- and macro-expression analysis. The task of reliably spotting such expressions in video sequences is currently unsolved. The current best systems depend upon optical flow methods to extract regional motion features, before categorisation of that motion into a specific class of facial movement.

Weakly Supervised Micro- and Macro-Expression Spotting Based on Multi-Level Consistency

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, 2023
Most micro- and macro-expression spotting methods in untrimmed videos suffer from the burden of video-wise collection and frame-wise annotation. Weakly-supervised expression spotting (WES) based on video-level labels can potentially mitigate the complexity of frame-level annotation while achieving fine-grained frame-level spotting.

From Macro to Micro: Boosting micro-expression recognition via pre-training on macro-expression videos

open access: yes
Micro-expression recognition (MER) has drawn increasing attention in recent years due to its potential applications in intelligent medical and lie detection. However, the shortage of annotated data has been the major obstacle to further improve deep-learning based MER methods.

SAMM Long Videos: A Spontaneous Facial Micro- and Macro-Expressions Dataset [PDF]

open access: yes2020 15th IEEE International Conference on Automatic Face and Gesture Recognition (FG 2020), 2020
With the growth of popularity of facial micro-expressions in recent years, the demand for long videos with micro- and macro-expressions remains high. Extended from SAMM, a micro-expressions dataset released in 2016, this paper presents SAMM Long Videos dataset for spontaneous micro- and macro-expressions recognition and spotting.

A New Feature Extraction and Recognition Method for Microexpression Based on Local Non-negative Matrix Factorization

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurorobotics, 2020
Microexpression is usually characterized by short duration and small action range, and the existing general expression recognition algorithms do not work well for microexpression.

A Study on Construction Method of Consensus Measure Space of Macro-seismic Anomalies [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Risk Analysis and Crisis Response (JRACR), 2017
Macro-anomalies are so complex that it is difficult to carry out the systematic quantitative analysis macro-anomalies because it is lack of measure space. It’s more difficult to find the relationship between micro-anomalies and earthquakes. In the paper,

Can You See What I See, Mata sebagai Objek Penciptaan Seni Fotografi Ekspresi

open access: yesJurnal Kajian Seni, 2017
The human eye holds a beauty potential that is rarely seen. In contrast to the eyes of animals such as insects and reptiles that are almost the same in the preparation and shape, the human eyes are composed of a different variety of patterns and textures
