The role of substrate materials for the survival and growth of coral micro‐fragment sheets

open access: yesRestoration Ecology, Volume 34, Issue 4, May 2026.
Biofouling can have a negative impact on the survival and growth of corals in aquaculture. For coral aquaculture to support reef restoration, there needs to be a cost‐effective and efficient method that reduces the reliance on labor for coral maintenance.

Environmental governance in the face of collapse: The case of Acapulco, Mexico, between tourist splendour and ecological risk

open access: yesEcological Solutions and Evidence, Volume 7, Issue 2, April–June 2026.
Underwater clean‐up efforts in Acapulco Bay reveal the visible consequences of chronic coastal pollution. Habitat‐and‐Site Dependent Variations on Crustaceans Associated With Ecklonia radiata Holdfast Along the South African Wild Coast

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 4, April 2026.
The crustaceans associated with Ecklonia radiata holdfast varied substantially between rock pools and gullies in different sites. More species inhabited the gullies than the rock pools. This pattern was more prominent in the Dwesa site, while positive associations between abundance and richness were more pronounced in the rock pools.
