Fish & Shellfish Immunology, 2010
Macrobrachium rosenbergii was experimentally challenged with Macrobrachium rosenbergii nodavirus (MrNV) and extra small virus (XSV) to study the clearance of these viruses and consequent changes in various immunological parameters. The healthy animals were injected MrNV and XSV intramuscularly and various organ samples such as gill tissue, head soft ...

Responses of freshwater prawn,Macrobrachium rosenbergii, to chemical attractants
Journal of Chemical Ecology, 1987Chemoreception in the adults of the freshwater prawnMacrobrachium rosenbergii was investigated under controlled laboratory conditions, using behavioral assays. Tests were carried out on groups, as well as on individuals, all at their intermolt stages of the molt cycle, and prestarved for three to four days.

Transcriptomics-based analysis of Macrobrachium rosenbergii growth retardation
Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part D: Genomics and ProteomicsMacrobrachium rosenbergii is an economically important crustacean in many parts of the world, but in recent years, growth retardation has become an increasingly serious issue. While the underlying causes remain unclear, this has inevitably impacted on aquaculture and production outputs.

Rearing Macrobrachium rosenbergii larvae in Fiji
Aquaculture, 1984Abstract Rearing Macrobrachium rosenbergii larvae to post-larvae has been accomplished using simple techniques. Live Artemia nauplii, ground kai meat ( Batissa violacea ) and tuna ( Thunnus albacores ) were used as food. About 16 300 post-larvae were produced in 13 trials.

Applied Nutrition in Freshwater Prawn, Macrobrachium rosenbergii, Culture
Journal of Applied Aquaculture, 2003ABSTRACT The freshwater prawn, Macrobrachium rosenbergii, commonly called ‘scampi,’ is the most important culturable freshwater species of prawn with a fairly high growth rate, wide range of temperature (15-35°C) and salinity tolerance. The nutrients required by this species for growth and associated physiological functions are similar to those ...

Gill transcriptome alterations in Macrobrachium rosenbergii under copper exposure
Chemosphere, 2019Copper is one of common contaminants in estuaries and coastal zones, which may cause physiological dysfunction in aquatic organisms. However, molecular response triggered by Cu have remained largely unknown in freshwater prawn Macrobrachium rosenbergii.

Oxytetracycline Residues in Giant Freshwater Prawn (Macrobrachium rosenbergii)
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2001The distribution of oxytetracycline (OTC) in male and female Macrobrachium rosenbergii was examined after the prawns had been given medicated feed containing OTC at levels of 2.5 and 5.0 g/kg of feed for 1 week and nonmedicated feed thereafter. OTC levels in the heads of both male and female prawns were consistently higher than in the muscles.
