Effects of High pH on Macrobrachium rosenbergii Postlarvae
1984By adjusting pH through additions of NaOH solution (~.8N), the response of recently metamorphosed Macrobrachium rosenbergii postlarvae to pH values ranging from 7.5 to 12.0 was determined. At pH 9.0 weak animals and subsequent mortalities were observed. At pH 9.5 or greater, mass mortalities occurred.

A massive kill of pond-reared Macrobrachium rosenbergii
Aquaculture, 1977Abstract Pond culture of Macrobrachium rosenbergii was progressing satisfactorily until reduced oxygen concentration killed 45% of the prawns within a 3-day period. A concatenation of over-fertilization of the pond water with a mash-type supplemental food, bottom turnover due to heavy rains and an algal bloom led to this kill.

MOLTING AND MORTALITY IN Macrobrachium rosenbergii
Proceedings of the annual meeting - World Mariculture Society, 1978AbstractMortality estimates for M. rosenbergii, grown from postlarvae to adult, range from 20 to nearly 50%. My observations indicated that certain types of mortality, previously reported as cannibalism by some authors, followed a characteristic pattern and were related to molt state.

Pen culture of Macrobrachium rosenbergii in rivers in Vietnam.
2020Abstract Pen culture of Macrobrachium rosenbergii in rivers has been developed in upstream provinces (An Giang, Can Tho and Dong Thap provinces) of the Mekong delta, Vietnam, since the early 2000s. Prawn pens of bamboo, wood and fine nylon netting, were built along the shallow margins of rivers and canals.
