New Benchmark Set of Transition-Metal Coordination Reactions for the Assessment of Density Functionals [PDF]
We present the WCCR10 data set of ten ligand dissociation energies of large cationic transition metal complexes for the assessment of approximate exchange--correlation functionals.

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Bedlam in mind: seeing and reading historical images of madness [PDF]
In this article I explore mythical Bedlam of popular imaginings. London's Bethlem Hospital was for centuries a unique institution caring for the insane and its alter ego 'Bedlam' influenced popular stereotypes of insanity. For instance, while the type

On Being Transminded: Disabling Achievement, Enabling Exchange
We write collaboratively, as a recent graduate and long-time faculty member of a small women’s liberal arts college, about the mental health costs of adhering to a feminist narrative of achievement that insists upon independence and resiliency.

Inhibition of Drosophila Wg signaling involves competition between Mad and Armadillo/beta-catenin for dTcf binding. [PDF]
Precisely regulated signal transduction pathways are crucial for the regulation of developmental events and prevention of tumorigenesis. Both the Transforming Growth Factor beta (TGFbeta)/Bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) and Wnt/Wingless (Wg) pathways ...

Implementation of new closed orbit correction procedures in the MAD-X program [PDF]
The possibility to correct a closed orbit is a basic functionality in the MAD program. During the rewrite leading to the MAD-X version, the closed orbit correction procedures have been completely re-written and substantially extended.

ABSTRACT Objective Cognitive decline is a disabling and variable feature of Parkinson disease (PD). While cholinergic system degeneration is linked to cognitive impairments in PD, most prior research reported cross‐sectional associations. We aimed to fill this gap by investigating whether baseline regional cerebral vesicular acetylcholine transporter ...
