Margery Kempe: Madwoman or Mystic – A Narrative Approach to the Representation of Madness and Mysticism in Medieval England [PDF]
Historically, the boundaries between madness and mysticism have been characterised by fluidity. However, since the emergence of psychiatry in the 1800s, attempts have been made to place a firm distinction between the two experiences.

ABSTRACT Viruses often hijack host developmental programs to promote infection, but the mechanistic links between reproductive regulation and antiviral immunity remain incompletely understood. Here, we identify a virus‐triggered hierarchical degradation cascade that links antiviral immunity and fertility regulation in rice. We show that the rice grassy

Palatable food alleviates stress and prevents anxiety. This study uncovers a dedicated neural pathway: dopamine release in the PFC activates D1R neurons, whose projections to the peri‐PVN engage a population of anxiolytic CRFR1 neurons. These neurons then inhibit stress‐induced hyperactivity of PVNCRF neurons, providing a circuit‐level explanation for ...

Market Madness? The Case of Mad Money
We use the popular television show Mad Money, hosted by Jim Cramer, to test theories of attention and limits to arbitrage. Stock recommendations on Mad Money constitute attention shocks to a large audience of individual traders. We find that stock recommendations lead to large overnight returns that subsequently reverse over the next few months.

Tumor‐derived lactate activates PSCs through MCT1‐mediated Vps34 lactylation and autophagy. These activated PSCs secrete CXCL9/10, upregulating PD‐1 on CD8+ T cells via the CXCR3/STAT3 axis to foster immunosuppression. Disrupting this metabolic crosstalk by targeting MCT1 effectively sensitizes pancreatic cancer to PD‐1 blockade, presenting a promising

Loucura e razão: produzindo classes interativas
The article proposes a discussion of some present configurations of madness, reviewing, in the first moment, the ideas of Ian Hacking, in order to think this existence mode as an operative effect of a matrix that constitutes social interactive ...

Using C‐AFM, W/HZO/p‐Ge capacitors with areas down to 0.26 µm2 are investigated. Frequency‐dependent voltage ramps reveal switching currents that confirm complete polarization reversal across the entire electrode area, while PUND enables reconstruction of P–V loops.

How does society imagine mental illness? Does this shift radically over time and with different social attitudes as well as scientific discoveries about the origins and meanings of mental illness? What happens when we begin to think about mental illness as madness, as a malleable concept constantly shifting its meaning?
