Geochronology of the Gabbro–mafic Microgranular Enclaves–granite Associations in the Gejiu District, Yunnan Province and Their Geodynamic Significance

open access: yesActa Geologica Sinica, 2012
Abstract:Many igneous rocks distribute in Gejiu tin polymetallic ore‐field at Yunnan province, rocks including basalt, gabbro, mafic microgranular enclaves, granites (porphyritic granite and equigranular granite) and akaline rocks. The ages of the granites and akaline rocks which are considered to have genetic connecting with the mineralization have ...

Genesis and evolution of mafic microgranular enclaves through various types of interaction between coexisting felsic and mafic magmas

open access: yesEarth and Environmental Science Transactions of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, 1992
ABSTRACTThermal, mechanical and chemical exchange occurs between felsic and mafic magmas in dynamic magma systems. The occurrence and efficiency of such exchanges are constrained mainly by the intensive parameters, the compositions, and the mass fractions of the coexisting magmas.

Mafic microgranular enclave swarms in the Chenar granitoid stock, NW of Kerman, Iran: evidence for magma mingling

Journal of Asian Earth Sciences, 2004
Abstract Mafic microgranular enclaves (MME) are common in the Early to Middle Miocene Chenar granitoid stock, northwest of Kerman, which is a part of Central Iranian Eocene volcanic belt. They occur individually and in homogeneous or heterogeneous swarms.

Hybridization of mafic microgranular enclaves: mineral and whole-rock chemistry evidence from the Karamadazı Granitoid, Central Turkey

open access: yesInternational Journal of Earth Sciences, 2006
On the Eastern Tauride Belt, the Cretaceous calc-alkaline Karamadazi Granitoid consists of quartz diorite containing mafic microgranular enclaves (MME) and leucocratic granite. The quartz diorite consists of plagioclase (An8-65), hornblende, biotite, K-feldspar, quartz, epidote and titanite.

Geochemistry of mafic microgranular enclaves in the Tamdere Quartz Monzonite, south of Dereli/Giresun, Eastern Pontides, Turkey

open access: yesGeochemistry, 2008
Abstract Rocks of the Late Cretaceous Tamdere Quartz Monzonite, constituting a part of the Eastern Pontide plutonism, include mafic microgranular enclaves (MMEs) ranging from spheroidal to ellipsoidal in shape, and from a few centimeters to decimeters in size.

Mafic Microgranular Enclaves and Interaction Between Felsic and Mafic Magmas in the Agacoren Intrusive Suite: Evidence from Petrographic Features and Mineral Chemistry

open access: yesInternational Geology Review, 1996
The Agacoren Intrusive Suite is exposed as a large intrusive body over ∼500 km2 east of Lake Tuz in central Anatolia and consists of the Cokumkaya gabbro, the Agacoren granitoid, and young dikes. The Agacoren granitoid is the predominant lithology of the Agacoren Intrusive Suite, and is differentiated into several subunits ranging in composition from ...

Mafic microgranular enclaves trace the origin of post-collisional magmatism

2023
Mafic microgranular enclaves (MME) appear associated with most post-collisional batholiths around the world. Together with the mafic-intermediate (sanukitoid) and granitic suites, it constitutes one of the most common features of post-collisional magmatism.

Hybridisation of mafic microgranular enclaves in the Lavras Granite Complex, southern Brazil

Journal of South American Earth Sciences, 2000
Abstract Twenty-five mafic microgranular enclaves of the Lavras Granite Complex in southern Brazil were studied petrographically and geochemically to establish their origin and to investigate the processes involved in their differentiation. Mesoscopic and microscopic textures indicate that they are products of magma mingling between a basic end ...

Mineralogical evidence for the origin of mafic microgranular enclaves in S-type granites and volcanics

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and Atoms, 1995
Abstract Mafic microgranular enclaves in felsic igneous rocks from two localities in the Lachlan Fold Belt were investigated by proton microprobe to determine their origin. Pronounced differences in trace element content of orthopyroxene and plagioclase between enclaves and a host ignimbrite preclude a cogenetic origin.
