Grafting TRAIL through Either Amino or Carboxylic Groups onto Maghemite Nanoparticles: Influence on Pro-Apoptotic Efficiency

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2021
Tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL) is a member of the TNF cytokine superfamily. TRAIL is able to induce apoptosis through engagement of its death receptors DR4 and DR5 in a wide variety of tumor cells while sparing ...

One pot solvothermal synthesis of organic acid coated magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Indexación: ScieloABSTRACT In this work we present the synthesis and characterization of iron oxide nanoparticles (IONPs), which were structurally and magnetically characterized. The use of iron salts and an organic acid (l-serine or ascorbic acid) as

Gram‐Scale Production of Iron Oxide Rubik‐Cube Nanoparticles: New Tools for the Clinical Translation of Magnetic Hyperthermia and Magnetic Particle Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work reports the first gram‐scale solvothermal synthesis of ‘Rubik's cube’ nanoparticles—cubic, dendritic multicore structures with tuneable sizes and exceptional magnetic heating performance. Featuring iron oxide single‐domain character, with low coercivity fields, high magnetization, and strong MPI signals, they enable viscosity‐independent ...

Improvement of Biohydrogen and Usable Chemical Products from Glycerol by Co-Culture of Enterobacter spH1 and Citrobacter freundii H3 Using Different Supports as Surface Immobilization

open access: yesFermentation, 2021
Glycerol is a by-product of biodiesel production in a yield of about 10% (w/w). The present study aims to improve the dark fermentation of glycerol by surface immobilization of microorganisms on supports.

Self-assembly of magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles into cuboidal superstructures

open access: yes, 2018
This chapter describes the synthesis and some characteristics of magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles, mainly nanocubes, and focus on their self-assembly into crystalline cuboids in dispersion. The influence of external magnetic fields, the concentration of

Enhancing Magnetic Hyperthermia at the Cell Membrane by Anchoring 92R‐Functionalized Magnetic Nanoparticles to Low‐Endocytic CCR9 Surface Receptors

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We present a strategy to enhance magnetic hyperthermia therapy by modulating nanoparticle–cell interactions. Antibody‐functionalized magnetic nanoparticles targeting the low‐internalizing CCR9 receptor enable spatially controlled membrane anchoring, reducing aggregation and maximizing heat generation under alternating magnetic fields.

Biocompatible Magnetopyroelectric Composite Films for Cell Stimulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Magnetopyroelectric films couple Fe3O4 nanoparticles with pyroelectric P(VDF‐TrFE) to turn alternating magnetic fields into controlled heat and pyroelectric currents. This heavy‐metal free platform safely boosts neural progenitor cells differentiation via synergistic thermal and pyroelectrical cues, engages AKT and calcium pathways, and opens practical
