Deuterium depletion and magnesium enhancement in the local disc [PDF]

open access: yesActa Astron.55:407-413,2005, 2005
The local disc deuter is known to be depleted in comparison to the local bubble. We show, that the same lines of sight that are depleted in deuter, are enhanced in magnesium. Heavier elements - Si and Fe do not show any difference in the abundance between the local disc and the local bubble. This observation implicates that astration is responsible for

Insertion of a magnesium(II)-octacarboranyl(hexylsulfanyl) porphyrazine into liposomes: a physico-chemical study [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2007
The synthesis, characterization and liposome insertion of a novel magnesium(II) carboranyl-porphyrazine, i.e. [2,3,7,8,12,13,17,18-octakis- (1,2-dicarba-closo-dodecaboranyl)-hexylthio-5,10,15,20- porphyrazine]magnesium(II) complex, MgHECSPz, is described.

Understanding Magnesium Dissolution through Machine Learn-ing Molecular Dynamics [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Magnesium alloys have become increasingly important for various potential industrial applications, especially in energy storage, due to their outstanding properties. However, a clear under-standing of the dissolution mechanism of magnesium in the most common aqueous environments re-mains a critical challenge, hindering the broader application of ...

MgBeC: A potential MgB2-like Superconductor [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
Intensive and extensive searches for superconductivity in materials iso-structural, iso-electronic and iso-valent with magnesium diboride, MgB2, have not produced superconductors with Tc close to 39K. Recently, we proposed lithium magnesium nitride, LiMgN, as a potential MgB2-like superconductor, based on symmetry considerations of averages of ...

Expression and purification of E140 protein antigen fragments of Plasmodium vivax and Plasmodium berghei for serological assays

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We provide a step‐by‐step guide for producing E140 antigen fragments from Plasmodium berghei (Pb1) and Plasmodium vivax (Pv1). Pb1/Pv1 are expressed in E. coli, solubilized by freeze–thawing, refolded by slow dilution, purified by affinity chromatography (IMAC), then concentrated and subjected to quality control.

Enhanced mechanical properties and degradation rate of Mg–Ni–Y alloy by introducing LPSO phase for degradable fracturing ball applications

open access: yesJournal of Magnesium and Alloys, 2020
In this work, as-cast Mg–Ni–Y alloys were proposed to develop a feasible material for fracturing balls, and their mechanical performance and corrosion behavior were systematically investigated.

Efficient synthesis of cyclic carbonates under atmospheric CO2 by DMAP-based ionic liquids: the difference of inert hydrogen atom and active hydrogen atom in cation

open access: yesGreen Chemical Engineering, 2023
The coupling reaction of carbon dioxide (CO2) and epoxides is one of the most efficient pathways to achieve the carbon balance. However, to accomplish it under the mild conditions, especially under the atmospheric pressure, is still a perplexing problem.

Influence of Heat Treatment on the Corrosion Behavior of Purified Magnesium and AZ31 Alloy [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
Magnesium and its alloys are ideal for biodegradable implants due to their biocompatibility and their low-stress shielding. However, they can corrode too rapidly in the biological environment. The objective of this research was to develop heat treatments to slow the corrosion of high purified magnesium and AZ31 alloy in simulated body fluid at 37{\deg ...
